Have lived here 12 months and love it!
PW are crap at communications but infrastructure is good but behind schedule.
Course will be the best

That's it Barry, rub it in . There are still some of us stuck in the UK formulating our escape plans.
Polaris are indeed Cr*p at communications, mainly I believe to them laying off so many staff due to the current crisis. Hopefully as the economy recovers and the community gets established and starts fully working together things will improve.
Can't wait to loose some balls in the lakes

Hi,
What I think PW need to concentrate on next year is the landscaping of the waste areas in between the Jardines which I understnad from earlier posts is what they will be doing. Also the golf course, although about to open, still needs landscaping now the greens, etc are complete.
If this general tydying up is done early next year the resort will look fantastic.

I think they do have to improve the landscaping around the edge of the Jardines and I did read that s PW's plan but I wonder if they were holding off until decisions have been made and permissions given to revamp their building plans given the credit crunch. Just over 12 months ago we were just starting to be persuaded to buy but the movement of the Foro made us wonder what was going to be on the spot of land. At the time we were told it would be a hotel with under ground parking- as at La Torre. Then Mirador went to the wall and the other apartments too. A post recently made me think that decsion about the Foro land hasnt changed- something about that land being retained for commercial build rather than apartments but it still leaves acres around the entrances on Jardines side needing improvement if real building isnt about to recommence. Again we have been told front line villas will be built sooner rather than later but viila Jana's were in the frame as well, rather than all 1,00,000 euros builds- not sure they would be first line golf facing though (ex In- laws are in the trade so get some up to date information- never sure how reliable it is- decisions or ideas)

There are no plans to our knowledge to start further property building on Alhama until the market improves. The Polaris World agenda at the moment seems to be:
- Hacienda Riquelme town centre
- Terrazas Town Centre
- Terrazas Penthouses
- Alhama Clubhouse
The first 3 above are underway. After that we expect Polaris to commence new build when the supply of resale property falls. That depends on the market which is showing promising signs in the last six months. Meanwhile, agreed, Jardines area where Altos was due needs landscaping. Any rumours about luxury villas are rumours, we believe these are very unlikely for some time. Likewise Oasis will commence when the demand is there - 3,5,... years, who knows?.
Rest assured Polaris will get on and complete above. For Polaris World to be building these projects now at this stage of coming out of the recession says a lot about the financial situation of the company and its commitment to complete the resorts. www.polarisworld.info

I agree with you about future building- and I'd expect the clubhouse to be the next project especially since they seem to have decided to retain the original plan for the golf course rather than move the 1st hole over by the Foro.My comment about villa's was only based on a couple of comments gleaned from a conversation during a game of golf at Mar Menor (which related only to the possibility of PW building villa's at CdA) and also the 'simplynetworking' article which said PW had permission to build a further 1000 properties. But that only means that they may have had their plans revamped and accepted it doesnt mean anything may go ahead. There is such a glut of properties in the region and already the proposed leisure and business park at Lorca has had permission for a further 2000 properties.Things they had planned at Condado have no doubt run out of time now- so they have to reapply for permissions, this gives them the opportunity to alter the original plans as well. As the Hotel they built at La Torre cost in excess of 90 million euro's it would be hard to see them starting such a project right now- cheaper to put on the shuttle bus service between the courses.

It is a shame that there doesnt appear to be a forum where PW will update its plans for CDA, given the changes to the original plan and the postponement of some of the original development.
I say this as one owner in many who is interested in the future of the resort.
Unfortunately, the web pages arnt even kept up to date so my wish i guess will not materialise.
I agree with the comment that we may see more progress once all of the current 'bargain properties' are sold, but up until then i assume it will all be speculation.
I along with others appreciate all of the updates by TQM and others whether they be speculative or otherwise.
Cheers
