Good luck with your efforts Barry.
I'm sure we are all a little more optimistic for the continuing development and marketing of the course now that Olagolf have taken on the asset. It must be frustrating for you full time residents, particularly the last 4-6 months, where it was evident things were at a stand still and you could never get any joy with issues raised.
Thinking of Condado as it is right now.
Q. What is it ? - A. A partly built urbanisation around a planned exclusive golf course. Other proposed 'attractions' i.e. Oasis some time in the future ??? The interim soulution Al Kasar sits with one bar, one (split in 2 ) restaurant, one golf shop and one supermarket in a massive space.
Q. So what is the primary attraction of this resort that would draw people to it and is likely to be the only attraction for some time to come. A. The golf course...........of course.
Hopefully now we have had the insolvency agreement, those that know how to develop and maket an asset will swiftly move forward and do just that. I can't help thinking about the extensive boulevards that you drive up & around on the aproach to the security gates at Condado and wonder at the effort & expenditure that has been put in to create the palm fringed expanse of landscaped avenues. Impressive & commendable. Now compare this to the aproach to our first tee on what is our primary asset & attraction and I defy anyone to say they are not dissappointed. All this time Polaris were developing this course, we have sat with a massive compound just over the fence surrounding the ring road which held row upon row of olive trees, palm trees, orange, trees & more. If you were creating a JN signature course (special) you could have been getting some of this stuff planted to live up to the name. So basically, we have made the roads look nice & pretty, but welcome allcomers to our 'special' course with a bare expanse of gravel which as Barry says 'turns to a sea of sandy mud' following periods of rain.
Here's hoping fingers will start to get pulled firmly out and we get some management in place that understand what an asset is and how you have to make resemble 'what it says on the tin'. In my opinion that is why there has been no formal announcement from JN group that Condado is officially open. I do not think it would have been long before he withdrew the signature endorsement from Condado if things had remained as they were.
No info' to back this up - just an opinion.
