Fly spraying

Just received a very prompt e-mail reply from Housing - Corvera to be sprayed this week :)

Thank you for letting us know Anita as I was about to contact them myself as the flies are really bad there at the moment. There are small plants with yellow flowers in a lot of the gardens and they are literally covered in hundreds of flies. The rain might have helped in the last few days but the spraying should sort it out. 

Thanks Anita I am sitting in Roda Club House at the moment and spent the weekend in Corvera where the flies were the worst I have ever seen them.

I thought that it was the weather but Roda doesn't have the same issue at the moment although I saw some notices here stating that spraying took place recently so that is possibly the reason.

The reason is that they have been treating the surrounding farmland,. muck spreading as I believe we all would commonly know this as, and people will know if the wind is blowing in the right direction

The flies onsite have been unbearable and i just hope that the heavy rain will clear them

On the subject of the rain, and if you have a property onsite make sure that somebody is checking for water damage as again we have had a number with damage and the rain was VERY heavy resulting is damage to some pools which were being cleaned yesterday, in the pouring rain

I also understand that the pool maintenance compnay has been changed by the administrator Housing,  who seem to respond well to any queries submitted by e mail

As the end of this week is fast approaching, I e-mailed again - now planned for early next week.

Any news on the fly spraying as there seemed quite a few buzzing around at the weekend?

 Just heard from Pablo that because of people not completing on properties there is no money for spraying the site. Therefore free tins of fly spray will be handed out to residents at the mini market (one tin per household)

I'm assuming your response was serious and not tongue in cheek because if so Corvera's response is laughable. Any resort in Spain especially with surrounding agricultural land should have this marked as a necessity irrespective of number of completors. 

I suppose this is looked at by Corvera as localised spraying ?

They obviously aren't going to spray around the homes of the non-completers who obviously don't give a sh*t wether there are flies about or not so it looks like those who have must suffer ! But hey fellas there's no need to rub the owners noses in it.

(ps I'm not an owner yet!)

I will be cheking this out as surely davej you are on a wimd up here as I have seen that they have put up some fly catching masures around the site as well as other pest control measures

The flys this week are noit anything like as bad and as I mentioned before I believe that it was really bad when they were treating the fields

The comments about lack completions surely don´t make sense as the responsibility is with the community administrators, Housing, the responsibility to pay the community fees on the finished properties is that Corvera have to pay, regardless if the buyers complete, therefore there should be no issue with money to maintain the site or am I missing something

Perhaps the people that have completed should be asking a few more questions

your right Roy,all owners should get together as suggested by Jonathin99 and others on previuos posts,i had the same conversation with Pablo last week about the clubhouse in paticular and his response was the same,no money from people not completing so no clubhouse, as you can imagine the debate got a bit heated  from my side of the argument as we have all completed in good faith and should expect at least the clubhouse to be available for those owners using their properties,as discussed with you last week there is a lot more people completing on a daily basis as seen by the number of furniture vans on site,we have to assert more preassure on Corvera to deliver this clubhouse ASAP for the sake of our investment and the continuation of the golf course so that it can be available to the public who in turn will generate more income. Has anyone suggestions on how we get together as one to apply some sort of preassure ?

As I suspected it would appear that the comments about the spraying associated to Pablo are a wind up and, if meant as a joke quite funny

If you are having trouble with flys use a Spanish fly screen provider, there are lots around and they are very competitive with prices and ALWAYS get a couple of quotations rather than just one

If it's a joke, funny isn't the word I would use. Can you tell us who told you that this was a 'funny' joke? Apparently Pablo also said that the clubhouse  would not be completed until more people complete, do you know if this is another 'funny' joke?

I spoke to Housing durectly who told me that they are treating the area for flys and as I explianed have already seen the traps around the site and actually asked Pablo if he made the comment and it was true and he said no

By saying it was perhaps an attempt of a joke I was trying to be sarcastic which is why I asked Davej

He is certainly not denying his comments made about the building of the clubhouse and it not being completed till more completions have happened and I have witnessed this statement made to a number of clients

how can you have a golf resort without a clubhouse ?   blaming it on non completers is a very conveniant crutch for calidona , i wonder what the reason for non completion of facalaties on roda is ?  anybody any ideas ?
