Winter clothes?

All this talk of meeting at Rachel's at SADM got us thinking.  It has been great reading all your posts and getting to know out future neighbours - we are really looking forward to meeting you all, so why wait until we move out there?

Bob and I own a lovely hotel in Torquay.  We have 15 bedrooms and would love to open it up to our new SADM friends.  We have two weekends before we start to get too busy with no bookings (so far).  These weekends are 30/31 March and 20/21 April.

Would anybody be interested in meeting up here?  Rachel seems to think a get together will be very popular and has already asked to be counted in.

We will charge you only £30 per person, per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.  We will ensure there is a Spanish theme to the weekend and talking about all aspects of Spain and SADM is mandatory.    You will also have plenty of time to explore Torquay and the surrounding area which is really lovely and boasts lots of palm trees to get you in the mood for moving to more exotic climates.

If you are interested please reply indicating which dates would be most convenient.  If enough people are interested we will go with the most popular weekend.

What a lovely idea and thanks for the special offer!  John and I should be able to make the 30/31 March too, so please pencil us in.  We are also trying to fit in a trip to Newcastle, but that will probably be the week before.  I can confirm by tomorrow evening, if that is OK.  As we are coming by train, direction from the railway station would be helpful if we are able to come.

Fabulous idea, Michelle and I will come down as well if that's ok and we'll pick Rach up on the way past. £0/31st will be great for us also. How many night would you like us without being too intrusive, we'll be coming down from Lytham St Annes so a nice weekend break would be fantastic. Friday - Monday would be brilliant and happy to pay full rate as this is your business interest after all.

Colin, if you need a playing partner for the Saturday I'll happily oblige.

Great.  That makes nine of you so far (11 with Bob and myself)? 

I will book in the weekend of 30/31st March as this seems to suit everyone so far. 

Anybody else interested?  The more the merrier - it would be great if the whole hotel could be taken over by us.  If not, I will have other guests in and will have spend time looking after them rather than talking to you about SAdM.

Darren, Michelle and Rach (and everybody else) - stay as long as you want.  Hospitality is our business.

We are looking forward to it.  John and I would like to book for Friday and Saturday.  We will probably book train tickets at Paddington tonight, but having looked online, expect we will arrive in Torquay early afternoon on Friday and be leaving on the 1630 train on Sunday.  No rush for your address, but it would be helpful to know if you are within walking distance of the railway station.  Also, it would be good to have some ideas for walks round Torquay while some of you are off playing golf!

Sue - Had a look on the website (www.torcroft.co.uk) and looks fantastic, short walk from the town and facilities and quite near the station (not too far for Michelle to carry my clubs) :-)

Rach - we'll be catching the train down also and change at Birmingham New Street which goes straight through to Torquay.

We are located very centrally so the ladies will have no trouble finding things to do.

John has to work on Friday morning  so we will be getting a train just after lunch and are due to arrive in Torquay at 16.17.  Sound like there is going to be a good crowd there and we are looking forward to our first trip to Torquay and having a great weekend!

A cracking idea! However i am in the midst of moving houses and will have little time to spare then, but i am not far away living in Plymouth. I would certainly like to join you at some stage. Do you have an agenda or could you suggest a "best time" to pop up?

Apart from dinner and breakfast we have no specific agenda planned as we are sure people will enjoy spending some time looking around the area.

I would suggest the best time to come and meet everyone would be Saturday evening when you are very welcome to join us all for supper.
