The golf society have always accepted new players without handicap and put them off maximum 28 for competitions.
From next week the new constitution comes into effect and the competition rules are that new players must bring proof of handicap to enter the competition. Obviously these players cannot. We don't like to turn anyone away so we may be able to accomodate them.
Join the society (from March 1st) annual fee of 5e.
Then new players can play within the society time slots for the reduced fee (now 40e inc buggy - 50e without buggy if not with society). They will not be entered for the competition however..
They need to play stableford and hand in 3 cards to get a society handicap.
Then they will be able to enter competitions.
Hope this solution will help you.
