Hi there

Had a look at this site today www.marmenor.net and  I thougt it was really quite good, It tells you all about the festivals and celebrations, near by sports facilities, eating out, culture and info on all the beaches etc etc and some really nice photos taken around the Mar Menor.......... photos that make me want to pack my suitcase right this second. Have a little browse if you havnt already.

Lots of places to eat out... yum yum!! Jaime went to a tappas bar actually in San Cayetano, he got a starter & meal and 2 beers all for less then a fiver.

Does anyone know if there is due to be a tappas bar on our site at all?

I think there will be when they build on the other side of the road (where the sales office is) If you look on property searches for Taray at San Cayetano, the literature says that there will be a tapas bar and some shops etc. Those villas/apartments will have small communal pools, rather than the large one planned for us.

I noticed that there were a few bars in Balsicas too, just up the road.

I should imagine there will be a few more convenience shops and such like in the village by the summer, hoping to capitalise on the influx of holidaymakers, new residents.

Had forgotten there will be a Driving Range on site and look forward to giving it a go......................with plenty of time on our hands there will be no excuse for not giving it a try.................it's raining here again in Eastbourne this morning so can't wait to get back out  to Spain on the 12th March to feel the warm sunshine (well I hope it will be sunny). 

We hope all goes well for those of you who are waiting to complete and hope to meet up with you sometime you never know when we come out some of you may already have settled in.

talking of the driving range, does your contract actually specify this on it ? we got our spanish contract first and some time later the english version. reading through this one taray only mentions the pools and the green areas. i trust taray will deliver on the driving range, tennis courts, club house etc.. as shown on site model and literature, but they are not obliged to according to our contract. does anyone have these facilities actually written into theirs ?

We bought in july06 and there absolutely no mention of any driving range by Taray..... first ive heard of it at all.

Ive heard all different things, footie pitches, paddle courts but then someone else will say they have heard something different etc etc

My husband was sure he heard a tappas bar was being built on our side but couldnt say for certain... thanks Karen for clearing that up. yes i saw those little bars just up the road.... yahhooooooo

I took a look at our contract and a driving range is not mentioned........................

We took a visit to a an exhibition in Eastbourne just the other day and picked up a brochure...........the pictures of the  showhouse at Hacienda San Cayetano are  very good...................it also says .................

The Development is particularly suited to those seeking a more active lifestyle as it has extensive green areas and playgrounds and is adjacent to a municipal leisure centre that will include swimming pools for adults and children, tennis, petanque and a driving range.

We didn't know there would be a driving range until we saw the above...................would be nice though.

Well i guess we shall have to wait and see. Not knowing anything about golf i thought a driving range was something to do with parking cars... i wondered why you were so excited untill my husband told me it was a golf practising thingy me bob!!!

I have so much to learn about golf, we will definately give it a go, one of my favourite films is Happy Gilmore. Every new golfer should watch that!!!

Well as long as the swimming pools are there we will be happy and anything else is a bonus in my eyes!!

I asked our owners club about the driving range and this is what the reply was,

I have called Taray to confirm the driving range and they have stated that there will be a driving range in Hacienda San Cayetano.  However on checking with our Products Department they have informed me that this has not yet started.

It shows all the beaches listed for the mar menor, photos of  them and locations, amenities, blue flags etc.

You can tell I'm getting desperate for the Land registry to get a move on!

Hi all,

If you click on to to www.enmarmenor.com  that has 5 weather stations around the Mar Menor (most are out of service most of the time, typical Spanish) but the good thing is there are 2 live web cams at the La Manga end. If you click on to these,  you can check out the weather in the area at anytime. Gives you a boost when its cold and raining here and you can see how sunny it is there and think, soon we'll be there!. Yipee!!

I found out exactly what should be on our site.

Two swimming pools, tennis courts, petanca and a golf driving range.

For those that are not sure Petanca is a Spanish ball-game very like, if not exactly the same as, the French game of boules (i think).

Also there is a train station less than 5 minutes away that goes directly to Cartagena, Murcia, Alicante, Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona!

I bought a book.. Going Native in Murcia and ive just read that by 2010 the government plans to link Murcia up to a high speed national rail network, called AVE trains. Trips to Madrid that would usually take 4 hours would only take 2 1/2.

Also throughout Spain house prices have been rising the most in Murcia... yippee
