Good news about sports bar but if I may ask what hours will it be opened. As its in a residential area I just hope both bar and courts will close at a reasonable time as we do not want people making noise late at night

I am pretty certain that in residential areas in Spain no noise is acceptable after midnight unless it is a special occasion such as festival week when special dispensation is given. So no need to worry on that front. If you remember the surgery hours never went past that time.
It is festival week this week which is why they will get away with playing loud music at the market on saturday.
We always leave our village after a maximum 2 days of the annual week long festival as the music blares till 6am. Crazy but true.
Al Kasar is different as it isnt classified as in a residential area and the building was specifically designed so that residents would not be affected by the late night music.

I hope the clue is in the description, 'sports bar' and they do it out like one, with proper sports coverage available. We will have a bit of genuine choice then between this bar and the Clover. When the Clubhouse is built we will have an even more diverse choice, which can only be good. We cant leave it just like the Surgery, which was bland with no atmosphere, so fingers crossed.
On the subject of noise we cant allow excess noise to drown out the dulcit tones of local barking dogs and crying babies can we?
(only joking)

Anyone sampled the New Sports Bar, this thread stated on the 7th July that it would be open within the next 2 weeks.
Whats it like? How much is a pint? Are the barmaids as pretty as the Clover?

The new owners never gave an opening time as they know how slow the spanish legal system works. It was others making assumptions. I have every confidence it will be opened once the i's are dotted and the t's crossed.
The banks have repaired the building and the courts to their original state as this is in the new contract.

Just to say that George is correct and the sports bar will be opening as soon as the new owners have sorted out the red tape.
Hopefully sooner than later but it being Spain who knows but it will open.

Are we using the term "sports bar" because its beside the tennis courts or have people been told it is going to be a sports bar?
Would be nice to have the choice of heading down to a bar where you know games will be shown or going elsewhere if you wanted no sport.

Like Mike & Dawn Hardy ( Hi you two )
We too have our apartment in Jardin 5 & will be more than happy to see the "sports bar" re opened. With regards to the noise. our bedrooms overlook the childrens play area & the outside patio is just off to the right of us. Whilst the bar was open we can honestly say that we were never bothered with any noise but ofcourse it was never open till very late,
Either way we are very please to hear that it will be opening soon
Best wishes to a very sucsessful venture to the new owners.

A previous post was right Spanish red tape and legal have held everything up and now into the August close down so we will have to wait a little longer for the zone to open but its def happening.
I also can assure everyone happily that the owners are not Man city fans!!!!!!
Its great to see concerns already over prices and noise dont the british rush ahead of them selves.
Its simple this will be the first private investor on Condado and if we want it to work we have to support it. Personelly I would like a little noise, atmosphere, decent opening times ( getting a coffe or breakfast B4 4pm. and something thats open all year round.)
The Clover has become a joke not even opening earier in fiesta and we need a resturant that opens more often than just August!!!!!
Our residents have nothing and golfers have nothing befor the Clover opens so lets hope.

Hi Neil,
Completely agree, The reopening of the bar will be a great asset to the community. The Polaris run Clover bar has done nothing for the people of Condado. The Golf Society, which is pretty much their main customer all year around, has tried many times to get them to lay on functions but they were never interested, so we have gone to Scot'ties, Camposol, Hacienda, Mazarron etc etc. Now finally we will have a venue on site that will be able to provide not only evening entertainment but also a place for the golfers to get a morning coffee and an after game drink. Until we get a club house it will be the 19th hole.
As you say the Spanish system has caused the delays in opening but we all wait in anticipation for when the paperwork is finally sorted and we can all get a nice cold beer in the new "Manzana" bar.
I wish the new owners every success as should we all.
