Hi
We have been trying to get 2 rectangular sail shades from Ikea for 2 years and each time we come out to Condado they have sold out.
Does anyone have any for sale?
If not, perhaps someone would be kind enough to let me know if they visit Ikea and see them for sale, I can then ask one of our friends to pop in and get some as we are not out now until September.
We are desperate to get something (cheap as possible) as we have a toddler and as yet not been able to use our terrace.
We have bought 2 rectangle ones, but they do not work on the upstairs terraces.
Cheers
Rachel

I ended up bringing one over from the UK

Hiya - I think I have one (possibly 2) brand new and unopened in my apartment. I arrive on Sat evening so will look and see. Pretty sure I have them in storage at the apartment. I have alternative sunshading now so don't think I'll use but was keeping it/them just in case. Arlene

I have the same problem, I bought 2 triangular shades from Ikea and couldn't get them to fit. I want rectangular ones too! They are on the website but have never seen them in store... :(

We managed to get ours from our local Ikea here in the uk & took them over in our suitcase
However as Ham had used very secure bolts & tighteners we foolishly left them where they were
WRONG IDEA. We should have taken them down but as they were so secure we knew it would take to long a be a bit of a bother each time. Unfortunatly they were torn to shreds as were many others we saw during our December visit.
That was two years ago. If you have the time & patience to put them up & take them down again each time you visit then ok but I have to say that though the windout shades are an awful lot more money, in the long term they will, we believe work out the better buy. We certainly have not regretted our purchase.

The most attractive pergola covering I have seen is at my friend's apartment on Condado. It is really nice and fits in well with the surroundings. It is made from sheets of special sun filtering, natural-looking fabric and looks fantastic. It covers the entire top of the pergola and It has held up really well since it was done around 2 and a half years ago. Steve (Endpeg) on this forum did it and made a great job of it. I'm sure he would be happy to quote. Of course it's dearer than the sailshades but really does look the part and gives great protection.

Hello
We purchased ours from Paco Merrino. I believe he lives on Condado.
We were over late june & we saw his van parked outside quite a number of apartments during the two weeks we were there.
I am sure there was a thread way back & Paco`s telephone number was given.
I have a firm belief that if the spanish are using a particular company they should know where the best people are for ever you want. Paco was recomended to us by three different spanish families

Hi
Before investing in a permanent awning/shade make sure that you get the benefit of the shade.
I know it sounds obvious but when i put my Ikea shade on my 1st floor terrace pergola it is my next door neighbour who gets the benefit due to the position of the sun (my pergola is at the back of my terrace)
To get the full benefit I need an awning that pulls out from the side of the pergola (the type you fix to walls and pull out similar to the ones shops have).
Just thought i would mention it as i understand the permanent awnings are quite costly.
You can buy an awful lot of Ikea shades for the price of a permanent one!!
I can see the benefit of permanent shades for ground floor apartments but do your assessment first if you have a first floor apartment and I suggest look at the large umbrellas as well.
Just my view

Hi,
I have had an awning fitted this year so I have two Ikea sails you can have for free, I think I only used them for abut 3 days last summer as they didn't provide as much shade as the large umbrella I have due to sun position on my patio. I'm here for another week if you want someone to pick them up for you?
