Sports bar...any news?

Any update on the opening date yet

Has work actually started on it yet ?

 Yes, the new owners have been busy at work and the banks have repaired all the damage to the facility prior to them taking it over i.e broken windows replaced, new mesh on the paddle/tennis courts, new doors on the courts etc.   The owners are now waiting for the new kitchen to be fitted, all looking good for grand reopening soon ( can't give a date as we've in Spain :-) )

Feeling very positive about everything that is happening on Condado.  Lets hope the shops in the Al Kasar open soon and a cash machine is put in place. Fed up driving to Camposol for money. Good luck to the new owners.

At least things are moving on and it's not just a rumour. Posters please be careful when posting positive news, the Dads Army /Private Frasier Brigade could be monitoring this , were doooomed , were all doooomed lol

Thats Si's department now that I'am unemployed, and he's from Yorkshire so what do you expect. I only get one drink to last me the night while he gets a bucket,  thats if they've not  all sprouted legs and walked.

Didn't see much of you this holiday were you in  hiding or just keeping a low profile? Nick and Si were looking for another golfing buddy to make up a foursome for captains day and you were nowhere to be found.

Nearly the end of August and still waiting on news about Sports Zone I thought all that had to be done was dot the I's and cross the T's.  Is there a problem?

I share this frustration with you, but... TIS... This is Spain. :)

Its definately opening shortly. The new owners have ordered new kitchen and bar furniture but because of holidays in Spain through August everything is put on hold. Im pretty sure you will find out shortly when it will be open.

Forgot Spain shut down for a month, silly me guess I'll just have to hold on another week or so then.

 All the contracts etc have been signed, just waiting for the paperwork etc to come back from the bank, which probably wont be until Sep as most of Spain has cloed down for Aug.  When that's all been sorted will then take a further few weeks to get the place kitted out.  So be patient things will be happening Sep/Oct time.

Im next out 1st October. Is the new bar likely to be open by then does anyone know?????

This was first reported on the 7th of July on Eye On Spain. The poster stated it would be open in 2 weeks.

Its been 10 weeks and still no sign.

I would bet 5 Euros that it wont be open on the 1st October..... And a pint it wont be open this year.

Careful Darren, if your bet gets taken up by all the readers of EOS/CDA, and you are incorrect, it could cost you a few bob. However if you were right, it could be free beer for a month for you.

Last thing i heard in August was that contracts were signed, however the tenants/owners couldn't get hold of kitchen equipment and furniture until this month, hence the hold up.

Pity that they've lost out on the summer season because of all the delays. As it stands looks like if it ever does open it will be at the worst possible time.

I have heard through the grapevine that sports bar will now be opened in a marquee in N4 instead. There will be no golf parties allowed !
