The 6 polaris/olagolf courses will be amalgamting from 1st jan. They will be run by golbal golf.
Luke Murphy is the commercial manager and he is very amenable.
For the time being the annual course membership for residents remains at 1200 with a 10% discount
Society members can play every day of the week for 40 e or 2 people can play for 100e incl a buggy.
See barry to join the society or email him.
The old clubhouse at hacienda requelme will be coming to condado but we may have to be a bit more patient. It Was due to come Jan but they need to build the trenches first!
Happy New Year everyone.

Never seen the old club house at HR- is it a portacabin affair or log cabin type structure?
So much seems to get lost in translation and rumour doesn't it?

Re the club house, I'll believe it when I see it.
Every time the course management transfers from one company to another we're told it's a great move and a club house will be built. It happened when Olgolf took over from Polaris World and again when the current mob took over from Olagolf, so forgive my sceptacism and pass me my pinch of salt. :)

Good news and bad news I suppose.
But one thing is certain. When this course gets a proper clubhouse the residents won't have the ease of access that we enjoy now. Can basically turn up when you want (outside society times) and get a game.
For me that is a huge positive considering the quality of the course.
I do look forward to a permanent clubhouse but until then am happy with being able to play when I want.

Don't think you need to worry too much about not getting a game when you want (within reason) at CDA for a good while yet, clubhouse or no clubhouse. The world's golfing fraternity is not suddenly going to develop a passion for visiting our undoubtably good layout but poor complex. La Manga has been in existence for many years and is light years ahead of what CDA has to offer as a destination and Joe Public can get a game there OK outside of International tournaments etc.
On the temporary clubhouse front, the Hacienda Riquelme building will be better than the previous offering of the old site cabins as it a customised temporary club house building already and I am told it was quite cosy in there.
I too, like everyone else, look forward to the official permenant clubhouse but do not see this materialising for many years now. Hopefully by that time, they have the rest of the surroundings up to scratch also.
Regards,

Hi
Although I own on Condado, I'm not a golfer but even I can see the need for a clubhouse. Although a new permanent building would be the better option, a good temporary building would do in the short term but would look far better if the area around it was landscaped with a few trees, plants, etc. when the building was erected.
Lot's of people I know say how grand the entrance is with it's tree lined roads and the Jardines areas clean and well kept but they then add that what lets things down a bit are the areas of waste ground which wouldn't cost a lot to tidy up, including the area where the clubhouse is supposed to be put. I think if this was done, it would make the thought of a temporary clubhouse more acceptable.
Just my thoughts as a non-golfer................

http://www.direct2spaingolf.co.uk/Hacienda_Riquelme_golf_resort/Hacienda-Riquelme-update-March-08.shtml The link above shows the temporary clubhouse at HR, if this is the one that's been talked about. Better than the ports cabins!

George, why have you posted hear say, you, like all on Condado have access to Society website and committee contacts, surely contacting committee would have been a better way forward. Regardless of whether the new manager is approachable or not, info which you posted should only have been done AFTER committe had spoken to new management. You could have seriously damaged the negotiating position of Society by pre- empting any agenda the Society put forward. The Society committee work extremely hard on behalf of all members and damage to negotiations can be difficult to handle if we have individuals acting alone. Please, please leave the committee to do deals for 2012, we are on your side.

I agree that whenever we have new managers/owners we get info about the clubhouse and nothing has ever happened. Remember when the rumour was that two groundfloor penthouse apartments were to be adapted into the clubhouse?!! At the time I was at La Torre and was asked about the new Night Club about to open at the base of one of the 'tower' blocks on CdA- rumours have legs.
In respect of the landscaping I think the problem is much of the land doesnt belong to CdA as such so ML can't get it tidied up.
Just hoping that we are about to get something as a clubhouse- because I do feel there's something afoot, something has stimulated these rumours and the course would benefit so greatly.
I'm glad George shared a bit of info- get tired of being treated like a child where everything is on 'a need to know basis'- there seemed to be a lot of that on CdA in the past where only a few were in the 'know'. Mind you not much to 'know' now a days, I suppose.

The Hut doesn't look too bad....a small bar and some chairs outside and it will be a step forward.
I'm happy to see info posted by people as if we need to wait until its all confirmed you are out of the loop for many months. In saying that I think the society should be the only ones discussing and posting society rates etc. In this case it seems someone just had a chat with the new manager who passed on info that was then posted. I'm sure the society can continue to do the great job they have been doing and negotiate the best rates possible for its members.

I have actually spoken to Antonio who is the new boss of global golf handling condado and also to the proposed new commercial manager this week and i will be having a further meeting with them next week so i can arrange cheaper deals for non members and guests . One of the things i would like to get is a 1 month membership but any suggestions please pm me and ill pass them on.
The previous temporary club house (hut) at hacienda requilme was alot better than the empty space we have now.
We have waited ages for Global Golf to be set up and from my initial chats i can sense much more optimism than before.
If anyone would like me to book tee times and arrange golf deals for non society members please pm me and ill do my best.
Happy New Year and i hope to see a few of you in the condado club tonight. Should be a great evening.

George,
That article with it's links is by far the best information on Paramount I have seen so far. You should put it on the Paramount thread. Pity about the three previous false starts in other parts of the world already though. Let's hope they can buck the trend and present economic climate and make it 'fourth time lucky'. A recession can sometimes be the best time to build things, be it a house or a theme park, due to the depressed nature of labour & materials costs - so wise investors get yer bucks in !!

Had a look at the web-site noted below. Not impressed! Looks like a site thrown together with no real content. I ask again who are Global Golf? What is their history and do they have a track record? Initial impression is that it is a company made up on a whim to cut costs and try to get the job done on the cheap. Certainly doesn't seem that they have the experience or knowledge that Olagolf can boast. I must admit that my conclusion is based on very little knowledge, mainly becuase the Global Golf web-site doesn't contain any notable information. very worryng.

The Paramount Park 'screamscape.com' link was originally posted on one of the Paramount threads by Tony (TQM) - it does have good detail and pics thouigh I wish the brochures were in English too.
Hope something comes of the clubhouse finally in 2012- would be good to see the area improved around hole 1- another step forward.
After that hearing that some of the units are genuinely going to open in Al Kasar would be another big plus. I know its a big ask in the current climate and agree with others that any of these things may find it hard to remain open through the off season- but still hopeful.
