Would it be possible to act as grown ups and have a debate without getting into personal slanging matches?

As soon as anyone posts anything that disagrees with someone else logical argument goes out of the window. They then encourage people to stop posting. No wonder there is a silent majority that wonder what the hell is going on and don't believe either side. Grow up. All of you.

Cutting the crap out of this thread and getting back on theme, my basic maths tell me we are around 230,000 short on our debts this year, if we take out any reference to the debtors, as we may never see that money. Am I in the right zone Phil?

I believe that the figure is  approx. minus 170000€ (money owed minus money in the bank).

I just can't understand your bitterness and constant back-biting comments directed at the Tanns. Have they wronged you personally somewhere along the line ?? Unless you have good justifiacation for your derogotory comments why don't you just scamper back to the playground and 'take your ball with you'.

Correct.  The problem is that the figures presented by Mileniun are misleading, I've spoken to a large number of owners who thought that it meant that the community is €587K in credit where as we were actually €170 in debt.  Yes I'm sure that anyone with a background in finance or accounts would of worked that out but the majority of owners simply took a quick look at the number and made assumptions.  We have shown these to several accountants how couldn't believe how they were being presented so this is not just my opinion.  

Can't provide the latest figures has Mileniun stopped sending out the regular monthly reports to the presidents in July.

Sam barks at everyone who passes (he is a geman shepherd) and on each occasion I have been there (many times) Phil always tells Sam to shutup! The dog always does but has a short memory!

Maybe he is like others on this forum who make a noise without knowing why!

I have to make the point that a budget shortfall in any year of around £200K whichever way you look at it isn't terminal to the health of the resort. Remember, the cause of this isn't mis management of funds, it is failure to pay fees by a large section of owners some of whom are absent. I live next door to one of them who just happen to be Polaris World!

You can't expect to be in a great state at the bank if we allow people to run up £700K in debt. These people should be hunted down and forced-shamed legally into paying. I really do hope and expect that this is being pursued with rigour and is the one thing I would expect an administrator or president to be on top of. Everything else is much less important because until we get our debts down we will struggle to fulfil our obligations.

It would be interesting to see which nationalities are the biggest non payers, what's the betting it is the Brits. JF

 We  just avoid the pass Naranjos 1 as the dog was frightening my granddaughter to death when we had her over, it does not really help when the owner afterwards shouts "shut up", surely a pleasure for all neighbours in that garden. Who's dog is it? The comunity should maybe change the bylaws to introduce the anti bark collar, quite simple and would help as well in Naranjos 8. 

And here we go again - ptan makes a valid point and up pops Giles to moan about the dog, he shuts up and Robndbev start with there personal insults and threats.  These people only ever post against ptan. Have they got nothing better to do than victimise other people for their believes and points of view.  Do we critise and post slanderous postings with personal attacks on other people - No!   Who are you anyway, hiding behind pen names - Does anybody else know who they are?.  Only Cowards post here like that..  How many more personal insults are going to be directed our way.

we all have a moan at one time or another about many things on this site , dogs barking ?, thats what they do , ML administering the resort , they do pretty well , ML not dealing properly with contracts or balancing the accounts or dealing with debtors properly ? thats been discussed to death and beyond on this forum ,

I just wonder about finances and my only dealing with finances is the running of my house, I cant understand MLs logic in that they know in advance that a percentage of owners will have payments in arrears that amount to many thousands a year yet they still write cheques for this money which may never be collected . why is it that if for example that it is known in advance that 20% of the projected income from owners fees may not materialise , that the budget still seems to be set out on 100% of possible income from these fees instead of a lower amount ?

surely next years budget should be based on paying down a percentage of income towards clearing existing debt and the budget be based on the remainder . Is that not what we all do every week when we get our wages , we pay some towards our debts?

the second thing i wish to say is that I made a post about filling in the vote for the upcoming AGM , in it i asked a question about filling it in , given all the talk over the weekend about the subject I thought I would get 1 or 2 replies , guess how many people were willing to help me on this matter of great importance ?

How pathetic this all is...the Tanns dog may scare you the first time but after that you expect it..to bring the Tanns gate into this is petty to say the least! Lets worry about the owners not paying their community charges instead of a gate! I am no friend of the Tanns but the way Ptann was treated by ML in August was ridiculous! I have no idea who is right or wrong and to be honest I'm getting to the stage where I really don't care! This petty squabbling will bring Condado down...some of you need to grow up or get a life...what have the Tanns done that is so wrong?? What if they are right...I certainly didn't approve of MLs disposal of the Level 1 President...no matter who it was....they are there to do our administration....we employ them. I like the ML staff but just not sure of the motives of ML as a company!!!

 Just walk on the other side if the dog frightens you.

When I started this thread it was hoped it would give people with differing mind sets the opportunity to talk about their views, after all none of us know all that goes on in front and behind doors. And living here in the UK, EOS is probably the only way I & others are kept informed and I believe it is good to examine other peoples views. I had put mine down & wanted to hear from others.

I have friends both here in the UK and living on Condado who believe that ML is great.

So being some what confused I just wanted to read other aspects. Wish I had not bothered now

It was never meant for people to start slagging off other people with differing ideas. It would be a sad state of affairs if we all followed each other like lambs to the slaughter.

And I cannot see for the life of me how my initial comments should lead to conversations about a dog.

Oh how I Wish EOS  Condado would go back to the"good old days"

Jan, when you started this thread off, you started by critasissing ML, you may want to revisit your original post.

ltan, I have no more comments currently about ptan after this final post as I am off to Spain for a few days, ive made my point and if you read my previous post it was to highlight certain moral concerns which I don't think certain individuals live their lives by.

Other defendants of the ptan brigade have jumped all over my post about a certain point and therefore highlighted this point even more so to the authorities, yet no one has jumped all over the same post about the back gate and proof of legal alteration to the dwellings.

Quite a few long threads covering the events following ML`s infamous e-mail to all CDA owners.

There is no PTAN brigade, just a few people observing that our hired administrator acted unbelievely unprofessional and infantile. All the other details are not needed to see where we are: Our resort has been seriously divided.

This situation needs to be amended, and should be a priority for the new presidents to be elected. I actually think it is as simple as that.

 the final answer to all this is that we will have to wait and see, if Phil is correct in what he has said I hope some of you will have the balls to stand up and admit you were wrong, and visa versa. If he is right we as owner will be in it up to our ears, and end up paying more out. Everyone just stick to facts, leave the dog out of it and grow up.

Dear All

At the end of the day this is politics and which ever way you look at it people will argue and disagree especially as we are leading up to elections.

My vote is for ML as I have only seen improvement since they took over the resort, with the assistance of the new presidents I hope we can move forward.

Each year the resort has grown and moved forward in a positive way, people say ML have no influence over the investment from out side retailers on Al Kassar, if the bins were over flowing with litter, if the car park was full of litter, if the lights were not working, if the trees were all dead and not removed and if the security was not in place, would these outside investors have invested.

Without a good F&M team which Is currently in place, the team behind the golf course and club house would not have invested their time and money into the resort.

We didn't have a Club House at the start of the year, do you think MLhad no influence in bringing this to us?

So do think about the way the resort has improved, how many people has ML helped when it has come to assisting with the basic supply of electric and water with the various suppliers.

I'm will be at CdA in 48 hrs and can't wait to enjoy my piece of land in the Sun.
