We stayed at Condado at several different timesof the year (like goast town in Feb) and we liked the Al Kazar square and water feature. Its unusual but could see the future potencial . I suppose its like everything in buisness you need people spending; to expand. Our UK Village has lost 2 pubs this year due to lack of trade so we go to Newcastle/ durham for a bigger choice. We liked Condado but purchased on Camposol because it has a much bigger choice of bars placed to eat shops etc . So what about a regular bus service or a taxi firm between both. Its only 10 minutes each way..... Loose the gated community limitation. I think we also adopted the "once we are in the gates thats it for the day" attitude ourselves. But we enjoyed the best of both worlds on our stays at both . Secure Gated community v open Camposol community take your choice and dont listen to the rumours about costa del crime. Over 7000 houses at Campo 50% occupied by full time residents so its bound to have all year activity.
We were very impressed by the Jardins Community spirit and while renting invited to a Community Party in Garden 6. Loved it and met many nice people and had a good nihgt without the need for town centre
I think the "Condado master plan" by Polaris was for three times the current number of properties. Not Sure of the numbers but how many live full time on CDA and how many at the peak/ low season. Dont spoil the Al Kazar with water slides etc just move to other places for your entertainment if you want it... like Totana, Camposol, Mazarron, Bolnuevo etc for your added needs. Demand will fuel expansion not the other way round. This posting seems to have become a business v buisness issue when in the" real world" its what the customer wants that fuels expansion...
By the way the INDIAN RESTAURANT on Camopsol "A" has new chef and the food is just fantastic for eat in or take away give it a try ( Spice of India) And for fresh baked goods you cant miss..... Lizs Cafe on Commercial B.... pies and pasties to die for.....

I agree with most of Aliton's statement...but our gated securiy is priceless...Rumours about Costa del Crime...have you read Preguntas y Mas, on Facebook??????? in recent weeks Camposol has had squatters, burglaries, people feeding stray cats on other people's properties, the embargoes and Moroccans raiding the bins!! Our community charges make our resort clean and safe....perhaps Camposol should consider similar??? We can both learn from each other, both resorts have good points and bad points. I love the tidiness of Condado resort, the gated community, the communal pools, the Spanish gardeners and supermarket staff and the residents! We just need more businesses and heated pools!!!! I could not live in Camposol but we are all different...

2little tinkers.
Wasnt going to bother responding to the hype about living in a non gated community like Camposol . And your remark about Morrocans is a bit racist. cats being fed ... thats new ??. Burglaries yep happen everywhere in Europe. The post was about Al Kazar what do you want but i detect a bit of a superior attitude in your remarks. I wasnt saying ditch the Guards on the gates but just think about the wider area. By the way the avarage house value on Campsol is 140,000 Euro (see Ritemove overseas campsol ) So... up market in terms of Mazarron area. Just giving my oppinion as I stayed at Condado quite a few times but chose Camposol because we didnt listen to rumors many of which are spread by Estate Agents and Bar Owners with vested interest . As you say "each to his/her own" and if you want to see facilities to compare SEE the Camposol Community Page where most of the buisiness types are listed.
Realistically Condado is going to stay much as it is, until the property market revives, new building on Condado fills in some of the gaps on the "walking circuit" round the site. Itsnot bad now but not for us "Bus Pass Owners" who like a bit of choice on where we go for a pint ... 2litteltinkers

I'm all for a kiddies play/ soft play area, something more than the simple springy ride on our Jardines has. We should all have a decent frame like the Penthouse closest to Kazar has.
In fact, forget pub crawls we go on a shute crawl visiting most of them in Narajos, or visiting them on the way back from Kazar.
Even drive to La Manga Golf Kart, the outlet centre before Murcia or Alhama to give our little monkey his climbing fix.

Hi I am truly sorry if you thought my attitude was superior...I am just defending my resort!!! .Read Preguntas y Mas on Facebook.....the problems are endless in Camposol. As you said the discussion was about Al Kasar ....not whats great about Camposol??? I just felt you were painting Camposol out to be the better resort....in my opinion Camposol needs to be a gated community because of its location! The Moroccans bit was not meant to be racist....it is fact!! I suggest you read Preguntas y Mas on FB or have a good chat to those permanent residents on Camposol. I didnt believe it till I saw it for myself....they are raiding your bins. They would have a hard time doing this in our main bins on Condado unless they brought a 20 foot rope and abseiled in. There was another burglary in Camposol on Saturday night. .... Cats being fed is not new....someone is actually feeding stray cats on another persons property, who is currently in the UK...she is ready to lynch the offender! Talking of house prices, I really dont give a hoot who is more expensive....the. 2 resorts have completely different properties..so you can't compare! I overheard a conversation in Camposol about house prices, this person wants to put his house on the market...but as he said 2 houses in his street were already on the market at the price the agent suggested and werent selling!!! I love Liz's cafe...when I need a fix of comfort food from home. You have much more facilities than we have but as you say Condado will probably not change much until the property maket improves or Paramount happens! We have about 420 residents which includes 20 children. They are home from school, watered, fed and straight to the communal pools.....it is a wonderful life for kids....If we need to go to a doctor or hospital there are Spanish/ American (Spanish speaking) residents who accompany the person for free!!! We have a wonderful community spirit and we are in our infancy. We need an ATM ( so badly)....if we had an ATM I would never be in Camposol to be honest. Heated pools would be wonderful, it would extend our tourist season and perhaps make new businesses more viable. For the current size of resort I dont feel we will need more eating establishments after the American Diner and French Restaurant open. A kiddies soft play area would be an asset. I am not knocking Camposol but in a discussion about 'What is needed in l Kasar' , I didnt see the point of an impression of Camposol, through rose coloured spectacles!!!! Regards Denise

As you said the post is about Al Kazar so having stayed at Condado a number of times and had the Estate agents tours and seen the Water drained out of La Isla but nearly buying a property there, I thought a view from a holiday visitor might have been worth putting forward. Your constant referral to "bins being raided" and crime is off the point and it was you who started slagging off the nearby community not me. ..............Just pathetic and sad.
Most visitors/residents want somewhere to go at night and the focus is Al Kazar and the prices need to be right in the bars its not all about the kids either,. Yes its important the right facilities are brought in but at the same time you have to look at the wider picture and see whats nearby .
Im sure you must be well know around the village.!

I have been to camposol many times and it has been a great source to me when setting up our apartment on Condado!
I still go to Camposol to enjoy the restaurants and sometimes the bars, me and 3 mates go to the festival every June and its great to be able to go somewhere else for entertainment!
How did we get onto which is the best place to have a home on this thread?? Both have lots to offer so think we should leave it at that eh people?

It's definately best to try to get along with our neighbours. Although I chose Condado I am actually investing in the whole area and I want to hear that the places nearby are just as nice and not just the small part I have chosen. Equally, I want people ourside the resort to look to us and think its a great place otherwise it risks putting off any other would be person interested in either resorts.
Al Kasar shoudl be trying to attract visitors from its nearest communities to ensure the center that we rely on remains viable for businesses.
You will always get people who prefer one thing over another, I happen to find the idea of a gated community quite reassuring but it doesn't mean I won't like Camposol just because it isn't surrounded by 24 hour security or walls, my own house isnt and I like it just fine :)

Please don't mess with the water. It's stunning at night to walk into al Kasar. As more units open and the units are lit it will just get better. If the children are allowed to go ino the water the tiles surrounding al Kasar will be wet, there is potential for people to slip and hurt themselves. Then you have the problem of wet seats in the restaurants. I have young children and I could think of nothing worse than to go out for a nice evening at al Kasar and have to spend all my time standing on the side of the water making sure my kids are safe. There will be many others who will be very happy to sit in a bar while their kids run havoc in the water. Kids can drown in inches of water it doesn't need to be a deep pool. So I for one would love to see more play equipment on the gardens or an indoor play area with all safety equipment and properly trained staff but keep the water feature as it is. When the festivals are in its so lovely walking around with all the stalls set up with the central water twinkling in the moonlight. Heat the pools in the resort and ths old extend the season and give the businesses a much longer season. We tend not to Coe over based on the pool temperature and I hear so many saying they only come over when the pools are warm enough to swim in. I would happily pay some more on the annual charge for pool heating on the resort.

I for one am surely for being allowed in the water at al Kazar! This particular forum subject has reminded me of a story that begins back in the summer of 2012. It was a hot July afternoon and the heat was proving to be to much for me. I opted to go for a nice couple of lengths in the pool on my jardin. My trunks were on, my towel was in hand, and my nice green lilo was ready to go. However, as I looked out of my door I was greeted with the sight of a pool full of swimmers! These conditions would be inadequate for a nice few lengths and a float on my new lilo! So to cut a long story short, I made the decision to wander down to the water at al kazar. I arrived through the great stone arches and it was like a gift from god. The water was empty, not a swimmer in site. Without thinking twice, I jumped in to the water. I began to float backwards on my lilo in the lovely summer sun. I was blissfully unaware of everything else in the world. As I floated over to the other side of the water, I was greeted with a firm hand on my shoulder. I was that shocked, that I actually fell off my lilo into the water. I looked up to see a large security guard. To say he looked angry was an undertstatement. He pulled me out of the water, before escorting me off the premises. I think it is ridiculous that this water is not utilised and used as a bathing pool. Hopefully I can convince my fellow citizens of condado to use this water more often!

Hi Kev
I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with Claire. There are enough pools throughout Condado for you to find a pool to swim in. If not why not go to the hotel on Compasol. A fantastic pool. Does not cost the earth, a good restaurant & bar for later. Please leave the water alone in the Al Kazar it is so calming to sit outside your favourite bar or restaurant & just chill out. it is really calming when lit up..Maybe a small water feature would add some atmosphere but otherwise I would hate to see it used to swim or play in

Cant believe anyone would take a Lilo into the Al Kazar water feature . Maybe its a spoof or windup I guess it is. ??
What people need to remember is that this isnt Butlins and many residents want to enjoy the Al Kasar surroundings without rowdy kids or rowdy adults spoiling it.
A good fountain feature which "dances to music" would be the best option. and a couple of extra bars so prices would be reduced.
Dont spoil the main attraction .

I actually saw this debacle unfold as we were visiting Condado to view and were sat outside the Clover. I must say that say that Smileykev did look relaxed on his lilo but that is hardly the point. I agree with the previous poster that for the most part the AlKasar pool should remain untouched. Smileykev and Winston ! can swim in the lake on the 4th.
