 Can we independently petition ML about the pitches? Afterall they have the contact with IRM and with the contracts for gardening both which need to be brought together to help us with this.

Does anyone know of a local comunity who might want to use  football pitches- do the local community know they are there? Do IRM advertise their availability anywhere?  I remember many years ago seeing Spanish players using them at weekends- but no longer.

I'm not so confident the Presidents will get anything done and they probably have other things higher on their agenda's. I have often read posts were people clearly don't know who their President is- or if they do they get no response from queries they make to them- so would they be useful here? Not all are  as active as Phil  and a few others were/are.

As far as the pitches go , my footballing days are behind me so I won't personally use them but would much rather they were tidy and presentable than the eyesore they are becoming. Everyone passing along that strip of road to Al Kasar walks past this over grown area- it may give the general  impression that things are not being maintained on our resort as most people wont have a clue about who owns what.

I expect IRM hope to rent them out/sell the plot and pass over the care of them completely but I think there's so little cash out  in the public domain thats not likely to happen soon. It does suprise me that IRM are resistant to them being maintained as that might of generated a bit of interest- there's so much more cost involved for anyone to want to take them over when they have to start from scratch.

it's not ML that can make these decisions its the presidents. The contracts with the service companies are not with ML they are signed by the level 1 president on behalf of the community. ML are juat an administration company that are employed by the community manages the community funds, to advice the presidents and to carry out any tasks delegates to them. ( or at least thats ghe theory )
so petition your president if you want things changed.

 Hi Phil, I know how it should work. But I was thinking as ML advise the Presidents if we petition them they'll see the trength of thought there is regarding the pitches and promote the idea to the Presidents. But, I agree that petitioning the Presidents has to be part fo that too.

New resident, also think footie pitches are good idea and happy to go along with Phil Tans suggestion lets start bombarding the Presidents. Below is the email I have just sent to mine (you can get President email addresses from Millennium) - feel free to copy if you think it will do any good.

I own apartment number XXX. I understand that you are the President for our garden.

I think it is very important that one of the football pitches at the side of the La Kazar is maintained so that it is safe for children to play football in the summer.

I know that football is very important to the people of Spain, it is also important to the people in the UK. Unfortunately for me, Spain is much better at playing the game than we are.

Playing football on these pitches gives children of all nationalities the opportunity to meet each other and enjoy playing together which must be good for the long term community of Condado de Alhama. It also means that the children will not be playing football in our beautiful gardens where they break the fences and destroy the trees.

I know the pitches are owned by IRM and that it will cost some money to do this but I am told that the Level 3 Presidents have the power to make this happen.

I therefore urge you to please do everything within your power the liaise with IRM and make sure that the children can play on at least one pitch this summer.

Saw pitch nearest clover bar being watered this morning, the weeds were cleared last week . Don't know if there has been any grass seed planted .

Moyes, hands of Baines ! I don't think he has the temperament to be a devil, he's better off where he is.

Looks like some progress is being made but possibly too late for this Summer :-(

FOOTBALL PITCHES

El acondicionamiento de los campos de futbol está siendo llevada a cabo por STV

durante estos días. Se ha procedido a la siega del césped y revisión de los sistemas de

riego después de la época estival se resembrarán.

STV is conditioning the football pitches on these days. The grass has been cut and the

irrigation systems have been inspected. Some grass seeds will be planted after the

summer season.

 

Good news!!!

Yes it is good news though typically 'good timing' in that it is being prepared just prior to the two busiest months of the year - they'll probably tell the kids to "keep off the grass" until it grows - seriously, I will not be surprised......

Glad I started this post, have been watching with great interest as many many comments have been made and to see that they are planning to seed is good news. Whilst it won't be ready for this summer at least it's moving forward.

once seeded on the autumn the grass will take a min of 2 months to establish during which time I hope there will be "keep off the grass" signs. at least this will be done at a quiet rime of year. ill keep an eye out and let you know if it actually gets started.  Should be ready just in time for the paramount workers to come over for a kick around :-)

 The Paramount workers ???- tongue in cheek comment surely! I still cannot see the Theme park being built though no doubt the irregular propaganda is prompting more property sales. I keep seeing bits and pieces saying the design has been altered and reduced but dates etc on information is not always available so its hard to find much that is current. I dare say lots of owners will keenly be hoping the park does get built - think of all that rental as the place gets built- unless they house them on site.!

 

As for the footy pitches any work they do on them is good news. Whether you use them or not an eyesore is always going to be an issue when we are trying to promote our resort.

Had friends at Ayuntamiento the other day and they maintain it will start September. Am not willing to wager with you but only time will tell!!

 Put plenty of water on what's already there and it will be good enough for professionals as it was in the 70s & 80's at The Swamp, The Baseball and The Bridge ........... all of which had less grass on them by Xmas than the current CdA ones !!

Well there you go - why oh why could they not have started preparation in April or May - lack of foresight or what ?

But at least they have started!!!!!

Yes indeed Shampers - and I hope Martinez does not continue like he did at Wigan leaving it to the last 7 or 8 matches !
