Air con smell bad

If you have the pre-installed type then the unit will be in the ceiling over the bathroom (not en suite)

In the bathroom there is also a duct for the bathroom fan which vents to the roof.

We frequently get birds dropping into our fan duct where they die and rot.

Maybe you have the same and it could be the smell is getting from there into your aircon

From the bathroom. Take the vent cover off - there's either 1 or 2 screws you have to undo.

If there is anything in there it will hopefully fall out. Have a plastic bag ready to catch it! But you might have to root around a bit.

It might be worth having a look from the roof though as well to see if there is anything actually blocking your air unit on the roof that is casuibg the smell.

It turned out that the drain hose was blocked and the condensated Water could not be removed causing it to stay in the air con and smell bad.
