I just posted a couple of pics of the Paseo. Progress is astonishingly slow. They are still working on the section between the corner shop and the now closed Cary's Snack Bar. This section of road has been closed since September. They are working on the pavement outside the corner shop. Apart from that most of the pavement and car parking spaces (on the land side of the road only) are finished. My guess is they'll put the surface on the road in this section next week and move on to the next section. 

It has taken 9 months to do around 25% of the total length. If progress continues at this rate it looks more like a 3 year project than a 14 month one.

just a quick up date on progress of the paseo.  The section between the supermarket and the caribbean bar is now complete and the road up to the caribbean bar now open.    The section of road in front of the olimpo buildings is now closed with more pipe work being laid.

They have still yet to plant trees, plants or install new lamp posts on the completed section.   They have also to install the underground rubbish collection bins. I can only assume this will be done when they have worked their way down from  Los Bolishes and torreblanca.   You would have thought they would have installed them when doing the paseo but it is a different contractor.    Personally,  I think the paseo will not be finished until the end of next May.

We went for a walk along the Paseo yesterday and were surprised by the quicker pace of work! Apparently there is a new contractor. The road is closed all the way from the Carrebean to the Calypso and there is work going on along that entire section.

Wider footpaths and less parking is very much the theme. In one section, based on where the new kerbs are being laid it looks like the road will only be 1 lane wide.

There are so many more people worknig on it now completion within the original 14 month time scale now looks just about possible.  

The Paseo was practically completed and looking good by the beginning of May. There was an issue with getting possession of some land they needed in front of the Olymio 3 building. This has now been resolved and the land is being cleared. There is also some sort of issue with the 3 bridges over the dry river beds. No work has been done on these recently and they have been left in a mess.

Since the beginning of May they have already dug up several places. Initially to put pipework in for new toilet blocks on the beach. Now they are digging holes to put in underground bins. So expect disruption for a while yet.

Work to replace the bridges commenced in Spetember and now looks to be getting near an end. once fininshed "our" bit of the Paseo will be the best.
