Hi
Your apartment will already have wiring to connect it to the existing large satellite dishes located on the roof of each block. I may be wrong, but I don't think you will be allowed to put a personal dish on the roof.
Please look at other comments made both on the Duquesa Village pages and also the gerneral forum pages re English TV channels. Up to February 2014,it was possible to receive the full range of BBC and ITV channels, plus if subscribed, the Sky their channels as well. The actual satellite they were being beemed from is though in the course of being decommissioned and the channels were moved to a new sattellite with a much narrower signal beam. This means that for most of the Costa Del Sol it is no longer possible to receive BBC/ITV/Sky etc via satellite.
There are rumours of a new satellite being launched which will carry the missing UK channels and beam them to southern europe, but whether this is fact, or fiction remains to be seen. Only way of getting BBC/ITC etc is via internet connections at the moment I believe. There are a few English speaking channels that can still be received via the existing satellite dishes, but how long they will remain available is any ones guess, as the satellite itself is due to be turned off all together. They are mainly American channels.
There was a lot of information re TV channels posted on the general forum during the early part of this year, suggest you scan through those for more info. I think there was also talk of AEA investigating whether a wifi internet signal could be generated on each staircase, using the lift phones, but have heard nothing more on that aspect.
