It`s great to see things moving now & I`d just like to personally thank everyone who has posted info during some `worrying` times, I never really doubted things would happen (well maybe just a little) anyway.....can anybody recommend a mortgage company in Spain, I`ve tried The Abbey who have a Spanish Bank in their portfolio but their APR is about 5% & I`m hoping we can get a better rate, or is this the norm now?

Banco Hispania who are part of HBOS (Halifax) are quite competitive in the uk.

Cheaper rates will however be found through banks in Spain rather than the UK.  Beware however of the arrangement costs etc.

Banco Hispania won't however process your application until 1 month before actual completion so be warned as this may be similar elsewhere.
