Which Airport?

We are planning to visit San Juan probably late May this year, on our last visit we stayed in Mojacar & travelled around so much I can`t convince myself which is the best airport to fly to & would appreciate any advice, also any help with the transfer would be good.

My solicitor confirmed this week about the licence to build is all OK & he has been given a completion date of March 08 (he dosen`t believe it tho) for our house on ph 5.

Now the toll road is open between Cartegena and Vera, flying into San Javier (Murcia) and picking up the toll road will be quicker than having to go north and along past Lorca. I've not used this route yet, but looking at the map there must be very little in it now between flying to Almeria and flying to San Javier.

We flew into San Javier at Easter. and used the toll road both ways.

It took around an hour instead of the usual two hours via Lorca.

The road was virtually empty both ways .It cost just under 10 Euros to the Pulpi turn off. We would certainly recommend it.

Yep I agree the journey from San javier along the toll road was excellent,We passed 2 cars the whole way and for a while were worried that it wasn't actually finished and we were going to come to an abrupt end!!! The journey took us 1 hour max.

When we bought our property back in September 2005 we were told that plans had been approved for a new airport  called New Murcia Corvera Airport.  Building work was to start in 2007 and completed in 2009.  It was to be an International Airport and would be able to handle 7 flights every hour.  Hope it wasnt just sales talk.

As far as I know all the relevent plans have been passed and building work on the new Covera airport is set to commence.
