For the 1st time in over 14 months the 2 large tower cranes on site are at last once again operational. They were today starting to remove the old and rusted reinforcing steel work from around the foundation areas completed on phase 1 last year. Fingers crossed that this is finally the signal that our long wait is over and construction is about to commence. I have been resident in San Juan since December 2006 (long term rental) and will be until my property is complete on phase 1 (35). I will update as and when progress occurs.

Hi
We have been out for the last week to Spain and can provide the following update:
Cleanest building site we have seen!
2 further cranes being built on Friday (yesterday) on site.
Advised by site office that all phases will be built more or less simultaneously. March 08 completion for first 3 phases - later phases June 08.
Since we reserved 2 years ago, builders specification on basin's to bathrooms, vanity units and kitchen's have been re selected - probably due to lengthly delay however, builders are suggesting upgrade as a thank you for the long wait buyers have had to endure! We saw photo's of the new design's and they certainly don't look poorer quality and bring the design's up to date.
Tarmac on what was to be the new school - intention is to use as market area's in the summer.
Very few 2 beds left - only 2 south facing based on current releases.
A few 3 beds left, mostly the corner one's.
Overall, the resort is looking good and we remain confident that we have chosen a longer term beautiful place to have a holiday home.
Look forward to further updates from fellow buyers.

We have just returned from San Juan. We drove right up and stood on the building site, ( well away from the cranes! ) between phase one and two, and watched lorry after lorry driving on and off the site, and considerable building activity on phase one, two ,and three. Patricia told us they were building all three phases simultaneously and it certainly looked as though this was happening. The roads and pavements are good and ready to be completed, it looks like gas pipes are laid and foundations are progressing rapidly. We were stunned , and delighted, with the change from when we last visited in October! We also have some pics that we shall shortly post, and as Richards photos show, great progress is now being made.
regards
Sue and Michael Hessian (phase two)

Hi Folks,
Only just found this site and it's great to know that there is a resource where we can all share info. I started to put some photos on my own web site (http://www.esendionline.com/calasdelpinar.html) but will also put a few in the shared photos section of this site from time to time.
As building work seems to have started in earnest now we will probably make more regular visits to see the progress as we only live half an hour away.
Hopefully get to know a lot of you soon.
Stu
(Phase X) !!

Hi,
Just found this site also. We have bought on Phase 8 and still waiting for ou building licence. Our bank guarantee is only up to the end of July this year and obviously there is no way it will be finished by then. Has anyone else got this problem and if so how have you resolved it with the builder. Its nice to hear they have eventually started on the first phases.

We are on Phase One, and our Bank Guarantee expires at the end of June this year. Our solicitor is chasing Peinsa for it to be extended for another twelve months, and has been told this will happen in the next couple of weeks. However we are keeping an eye on the situation.
Regards
Gordon & Ann

Thanks for your replies - my solicitor is chasing this guarantee with the developer as he warns me that we dont want to leave it till july when our guarantee runs out we need to have something in writing much prior to this. I know under spanish law they should provide this free of charge however they had to be reminded of this when we first bought!. Its nice to see pics of some work being done though lets hope it is June next year for Phase 8 and it doesnt drag on. I was disappointed to find that there has been no rise in the value of our property since we put our money down a year ago unlike we were told there would be. I see they are still selling at the same price in the next phases. Hope to meet some of you all in the future! sue

Hi all,
Just visited the site today and uploaded a few photographs. Work is very much in progress with signs of good progress right down to (and including) phase IV. Some blocks in phase I are up to roof level and one block is having the walls built around the roof terrace.

You can fly into Alicante (1.30 mins)- Almeria (1 hour 15 mins) - Murcia (45 mins)
I would suggest you book your accomodation early as July and August are the spanish holidays and things do get booked up. You can expect to pay top price also at this time. Best to start searching now unless you stay inland a little and travel.

Try also Playa Terreros Hotel www.hotelplayaterreros.com email reservvas@hotelplayaterreros.com tel 0034 950 466 232 it is directly opposite the complex just passed the supermarket 1 street back from the beech.
This is a new hotel built last year, the bar prices and food are excellent, July & August rates are 90e a night for a double room for 2 people including breakfast as I was there on Sunday and picked up a broshure.Good luck.
