Hi,
Yes we bought on R7 2 years ago. We got fed up of waiting for the paperwork, so we paid the builders without having the paperwork completed. Our solicitors said this was normal practice, and quite a few people have done it, but of course if you are having a Spanish mortgage you need the papers. We have been told that it could be August or later before everything is properly finished, and we have friends who are buying a few doors away from us who are, like you, waiting for completion and very frustrated! All I can say is keep pressuring the builders office.

Hi Shelley
No real problems since we moved in. There was some damp which came through from next door, but this has now been dealt with. The builders are ok but slow, and do need pressure on them to get things done. We have started emailing the office at La Finca so that there is a record of our requests. We still haven't had all the snagging issues finished, but as they are quite minor things we haven't bothered too much. We face the golf course, and at the moment look out onto the 'builder's yard' with piles of building materials, and some rubbish. The builders have promised to clear everything by summer, but we will see. More people complaining about it would help! We are currently on builder's supply or water, electricity and gas [bottle in the kitchen!] and they will not tell us when we will be going on to proper supplies. Just a point - if you go onto builder's supply, make sure the builders have details of your bank account so that the utility companies can bill you when you go onto 'mains' - if you don't the companies will cut you off and it can take days to re-connect.
Hope everything goes well, and you're in soon! If I can help with anything else just contact me.
Peter

Hi
We are on R5 wish I had read the comment earlier about the gas etc. We hadn't been told about the gas supply needing our account information. We had people staying there last week and guess what yeah you guessed right the gas had been cut off. I had to pay 96 euros for gas bills dated Nov-March although we hadn't bought it until March. It took three days before the gas was re connected after a lot of phone calls to the solicitors and the bank. I have to say that the people at the bank were very helpful (Cam Bank)
I would recommend that people speak to the builders about the supply or face a couple of days with cold showers. I am taking the family out on the 31st of May for a couple of weeks really looking forward to it. After nearly three years I think we are finally seeing the finishing post, just need water in the pool.

Hi
We are on R7, must be near Peter-c if you face the golf course. Solicitors emailed us today (25th July) to say they signed the completion papers in Almoradi today (Power of Attorney). Paid builders and received keys at end of April, without deeds, so we could move in. Got fed up waiting so made decision to go ahead without deeds as solicitors said normal practice (unless you have Spanish mortgage then they need deeds before they release money).
Went out again for 2 weeks at the end of June and just before we left the swimming pool was cleared of the debris and filled with water, it took about 5 days to fill but no chlorine so didn't risk a swim. Had a few BBQ parties to meet new neighbours. Also got outstanding snags dealt with but had to do a bit of chasing. Going out again in September. Can't wait.

I know a few people have now properly 'completed' and got their deeds, but we are still waiting! My solicitors have power of attorney, and assure me it will be done in very near future. Received telephone call today from builder's office, they wanted to connect us up to mains gas. I assume everybody will be getting the same call!
Going out again on 6 October. Can't wait.
