we contacted Marinsol, regarding the short notice for the meeting, they replyed that they only legal have to give one week notice, which is not very reasonable considering that most of us are in the UK!
please can those attending ensure that the date of the next meeting is agreed at this one and we all get informed asap!!!! this will give fair representation of all owners.
by the way we would like bright pink with yellow spots on our awning

I assume that the President, as representative of the developer, will have the votes for the unsold properties at Monday's meeting and the developer will be paying for the unsold properties share of the maintenance costs. We should only be paying the percentage stated in our escrituras.
If I was able to attend the meeting I would not be able to vote to 'approve' the minutes of the last meeting without having studied copies of the Constitution, Statutes and Internal Regulations - all agreed by the sole voter present.

Okay People, as much as I know.
Marinasol meeting, The President did not attend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Budget for the year was passed and pool hours agreed. So I'm told.
A committee was not elected, so who agreed what I havn't got a clue.
There will be another meeting in about two months, so get your tickets and book your holidays at work now!
Telephonica are on the scene and it is alleged that land lines are to be connected next week, NIE Numbers and Passport numbers required!
Bills for refuse collection have been posted from the Town Hall. About 35 Euro's per quarter. Collect your post from the Post Office in Los Gallardos which kind of leave's us poor devils in the UK in a bit of a cleft stick situation.
Take care, have a ponder and Don't shoot the messenger.
Regards Barry 18A

Will the pool be open in October, when we all go out to attend the next meeting????????
Also, the challenge is to FIND the post office in Los Gallardos!
We could do with more bins, (especially when we are all out at the same time for the meeting) so don't forget to take everything needed to register at the town hall in Los Gallardos - a bit easier to find than the post office.
Also, I understand that Marinsol are sending minutes or notes of the meeting, and it would be helpful to know when people start receiving this, so that everyone can chase them up.
I think that the colour of awnings was also agreed, and it seems very tasteful.
Have a good day,
Linda

No - we haven't heard anything from Marinasol yet and when we there last week it seems as though nobody has (they are suposed to be recalculating the charges and sending out revised payment instructions and asking for account details for direct debit).
The colour of awnings was decided as orange as Haydn & Judy had already had theirs fitted and the colour was accepted by the meeting.
The ground opposite the low numbers was being flattened by JCB last week - hopefully with some autumn and winter rain wild flowers and grass will grow over the area and improve the views to the north. The ground on the other side is still a mess but the residents did move a load of stuff into one area to tidy it up a bit.
That's about all the news we have.

Springsteen, I have to ask - why Springsteen? I am intrigued!!
We thought Haydn and Judi's awnings were lovely, and the colour very acceptable. I am sure people will be happy with the colour, and be happy with the decision which was taken.
I did wonder whether the land was being cleared to get ready for building (affordable homes or whatever!!!) but the residents we have asked say no - just part of a general clearing up.
And just to confirm, like Dave and Ailsa - nothing from Marinsol - ever - in spite of several e mails.
Linda

Hi All,
About time we had some posts - nothing for over2 weeks !!
So, has anyone heard anything from Marinasol ? It's 7 weeks today since the meeting and we haven't heard a dicky bird from them. I know some of that time was sleepy August and there is the manana factor but still seems like an age to pull together some costs and start billing people - or some sort of communication at least.

Well, true to their word, at last, Marinasol sent me the Minutes today. I assume that everyone received them, but maybe not. After all, I had assumed that everyone would be invited to the meeting in the first place!
All in all, it sounds like a fair bit was raised and will, hopefully, be acted upon. However, I suspect that a lot more needs to be said, especially if we ever hope to be masters of our own destiny. I would hope that such meetings will not be too many months inbetween for the first couple of years, whilst we iron out problems and learn the best ways to deal with anything that arises.
Despite not being invited to attend by Marinasol, we did receive a copy of the agenda and representation form from a neighbour shortly before the set date. We hastened to scan and email the representation form, duly filled in, back to Marinasol yet note that our voting rights were not accounted for. Waste of time that was, then.
I am also unimpressed with the standard of translation. For a company who must surely deal with english speaking community members as a matter of course, I do feel that they could achieve something better. I'm not suggesting that I could personally do a good job of translating english text into spanish, but if I was being paid to do the job then I would make sure that someone did it to a reasonable standard for me.
Please let's hope that we are given ample notice (or any notice would be nice!) of the next meeting so that more of us may be able to plan atrtendance. Meanwhile, many thanks to all those who were present for doing a good job in raising some very pertinent points.

Yep - we got an email on Wednesday evening with the minutes (very badly translated as Terry points out - almost laughably bad with so many names being misspelt ....), and a request to set up a monthly direct debit of €38.80 with a back-dated payment for August due plus September.
Let's hope this amount reduces for next year (I've heard that most community charges are high the first year then reducing once the true budget is known).
I was intending to mention to Marinasol about the translation and to request a copy of any future minutes in Spanish as well as English - presumably the Spanish residents got theirs in Spanish ?
