Hi to all our new neighbours in Los Olivos. We have been over in our apt 10b and have met some of our nice neighbours. We found all of them very helpful in regard to providing us with local info. A big thanks to hayden who filled us in about this website and indeed all his help during our short stay in the apt. We hope to meet a few more people next time around as we will be staying for 2 weeks from the 30th of june. Its good to hear that things in regard to the pool are finally moving. Our daughter Holly who is 8yrs old hopefully will enjoy the first of many summers around the pool. We have read some messages on the board and it is good to see how people in the community are sharing their problems with one another at this earley stage. As we said to Hayden it is in everybodies interest to keep our development in tip top shape. And we are sure that everything will coming together at the end.
Looking forward to meeting all of you at sometime or other.
Cheers

Hi Andrew & Karen,
Welcome to Los Olivos and to the Eye on Spain forum ! We're out from 29th June for 4 days so hope to bump into you at some point - feel free to pop up and see us any time - we're in 2A.
Strange that Drew and Karen are in 10A and Andrew and Karen are in 10B !
I wouldn't hold your breath in anticipation of using the pool in the next few months though - it is absolutely essential that we have full insurance in place before anyone can even dip their toe in - if there were to be an accident or mishap prior to that point, then we would all be collectively responsible. We need also to have everything set up in terms of health and safety regarding the pool, such as proper pool maintenance. I have been advised by someone else on another part of Huerta Nueva that if there are any problems related to a community swimming pool then the local authorities have the power to close it down. Not a nice thought .... so we need to collectively get our act together and ensure we do things by the book.
Regards, Dave & Ailsa
p.s. you can see who's where in Los Olivos - as far as I currently know - in the Who's Where thread on this forum. This message was last edited by DaveAilsa on 6/4/2007.

We were just wondering Dave when the management company takes charge of the maintenance in regard to developement will this not include them providing insurance ect, been built into our fees, or do we to pay them separately as a communtiy. We hope to meet you both when we come out in 4 weeks

Hi folks we were just wondering if any of you could shine some light on a problem we have in regard to the charge our monthly water bill. We were connected on 2th of july when we spent 2 weeks out there. We paid the connection fee. However i see that on the 2th of aug we have been deducted 72.00 euros from our bank account. We can't see how we would use that much water in 2wks, it seems very dear. So does anybody know is this a normal amount for the usage 2 weeks water or is there another reason which we have been charged this 72.00 euros. Cheers.

When you say you paid for the connection, do mean you paid the bms 50 euros? We were charged 50 euros for each of the services, gas, water, electricity, which we paid directly to BMS on completion. This was supposed to ensure hassle free connection. There is then the official connection charge, but I have not looked to see what has been whisked out of our account.
Someone else may be able to shed more light on the matter!!!
Linda

Hi all
If it helps our charges to date (in euros) are as follows:
Gas
28 May connection = 79.64
2 July direct debit = 6.46 (must be for usage)
Water
29 May connection = 192.26
2 August direct debit = 12.40 (must be for usage)
Electricity
27 July connection = 170.64
No charges for usage yet incurred.
It has to be said that we have only spent a week or so in our apartment thus far. In addition to the above we have paid BMS 50euros on completion date to facilitate connection to the utilities !! and we paid the solicitor 180euros to contract with the water and electricity companies. I have no doubt that I am probably paying twice somewhere down the line nevermind it probably is worth it as long as it keeps sunny.

Thanks folks for your replies, We have paid the connection fee of 192.00 in regard to the water. But we are still baffled by this 72.00 euros which has been debited out of our account. We were thinking of phoning the water company, but we have't got their number and we don't think it would be possible to communicate with them in relation to language barrier. Maybe someone has rang them before with a query, if so we were wondering if they could pass on thE phone number to us via this site. We would be prepared to give it a try.
Thanks Again
