Hi There

My wife and i have just placed a deposit down on the 2 bed magnolia Bungalow in corvera after visiting all the other top resorts. We were very impressed with roda and paraleja but felt the best option was corvera due to the course,on site facilities, and villa size and prices. although we are not big investers(this being our first abroad) we did feel this offered the best chance for capital gain and rental? but not just rental to Golf! but to families looking for that all action holiday in one place away from the busy coastal strips. The coast is only 15-20 mins and the new airport will be 10min. As i mentioned earlier we went for a 2 bed bungalow at 93 sqm, which can be made into 3 beds easily and fronting on to the pool with golf views from our roof terrace. What do people think about our purchase???? thanks

George

You have made a good choice. I looked at most of the developments in Murcia before buying in Corvera. With the low density, proximity to Murcia City and links to the PGA, I felt this was an excellent all round option.

The standard of the development will hopefully be on a par with Roda with an improved golf course and of course not to forget the new airport at Corvera. This has all the ingredients to be very special and a cracking investment.

Hi George

What phase did you buy in and what delivery date did they give you?

George,

You have definately done the right thing ! Patience is going to be necessary though. I have a number of properties in other countries and I can assure you that Corvera has given me the best vibes yet and is going to be an excellent long term investment. By the way I am not an estate agent and have nothing to do with the property business, in Spain or elsewhere.

George

I was told that at Roda, the same developer Calidonia, they made no price rises until near the very end when they made a large increase.

I am assuming that this is true?

Perhaps they will do the same at Corvera, because at the moment there has been no benefit from investing early.

Cheers Stewart. Lets hope the same increases will be mirrored at corvera as the pounds ppsqm are far better there, roda is big bucks for a detached property now and we felt we had a lot more for our money in corvera.

Hello,

I bought a 2bed Apartment on phase 1 June 2005, and considered selling it at the beginning of this year so i did some investigation in the price, the outcome was that Corvera were currently selling the same kind of apartment for 20,000€ more than what i payed for it, which i would expect over a two year period.

Hi everyone

Just got back from Roda where we have rented to try before we bought. We are going to purchase the 3 bed corner ground floor property on phase 4 that we have a reservation on. Went to Covera and absolutely loved it.  I would love to buy there but my husband likes the fact that you can walk to the sea from Roda. Also it will be finished earlier. The resorts are so different but each have their own attributes. I really have mixed feelings but have agreed to go to Roda. Hard to choose between the two. I wish we could afford both!  Everyone at Calidonia say that building is defintely starting in September. Work was going on at the site but I dont know what they were doing. It was some form of ground preparation. The show apartment is gorgeous. And the views!!!!!    It'll be worth the wait.

Just back from visit to Corvera on 8 September. Posted a few photos but not much change evident to recent photos. Very little work underway with few people working on site. I thought it would have been much busier after the August hols. There did appear to be some kind of mini protest going on next to the construction site office by a few locals ? Spoke to Celia in the sales who advises 1200 of 1800 units sold over various phases. Licences for Phase 3 & 4 will be requested simultaneously. Reaffirms earlier info on the planting of the fairways and trees in 2009 she seems happy Phase 1 & 2 are up and running and is busy with sending information to buyers on the first units being built. Our apt is on 3rd Phase which she personally believes will now be late 2009 maybe early 2010! Took a run along to new airport site. A little construction works evident but it will be really handy for the development in time we are sure this will be a great investment/place to live.  The slow start just means we'll need to waita bit longer but with the ecomomies in the current state and exchange rates not too hot it might give the pound some chance to recover against euro by the time our apt is ready rates might have improved. Little comfort for buyers on first two phases though. Still I'm in for longer haul and confident will be a winner. Stopped off in Roda and sampled lunch at clubhouse course and facilities look really nice, when are they going to build shops and hotel though. Also looked at La Finca again, we'd looked when we firstvisted two years ago, not a patch on Roda.

As an unhappy investor on phase 4 of Roda I would be very careful about the reassurances of Calidona about building completion.  The slow start has turned into a nightmare for us where planning permission has still not been granted for our apartment.  It also took a long time for the clubhouse to be completed and the 5 star hotel is just a hole in the ground. After many years of waiting I feel deflated and depressed at the uncertainty involved in this purchase and only hope that you do not suffer in the same manner.

merely commenting about  russ w not to post any more negative comments i don't think is abusive
there is too much negativity on this website ,good or bad the economic situation is what it is,might get better might get worse
all told there is not much anybody can do about it,when we all bought  we thought we were doing the right thing at that moment in time,
don't have regrets , just look forward to it getting a bit better and enjoy your investment

I'm currently sitting in the club house at Roda.

There is no need to give an update on development situation as Pat McGinley was there the day before me, but if Corvera turns out as good as this I'll be very happy. Fantastic clubhouse, nice atmosphere, very good course, quality apartments etc. Plus the sun. if Roda has one fault is that the pools have no kids area, and my 2 being very young are a little bit intimidated by the fact the shallow end is 3 ft deep. But Corvera have ensured me that they have learned from this and the pools will have a kids area.

Everywhere here is slow. it seems the way. From driving to Corvera from Roda, the likes of El Valle and La Loma appear to have progressed even less than Corvera since we bought. And I reckon this will always be the way.

If you can ride it out, it will be worth it. We are estimating that (other than family etc who are free) that we will have no rentals for about a year until the course is up and running, but Roda is already renting fairly well, and although they have the beach close by in L.A, Corvera will have the international airport, and the allegedly even better course, which we understand will be a future Spanish open venue.

Frank

Definitely!! I am a Dub now in Athlone who bought in Roda. Was down last week and back next Wed night until Saturday.

Brought the wife out to the Beach Club on Saturday. Blown away by the whole thing. She had been a doubting Thomas but is now convinced. As she said if the Hotel and is run as well as the clubhouse and Beach then it will be a grade A resort. I believe that Calidona will do as good a job with Corvera. It will be a major golf course. You will need patience but it will be worth it.

Cheers and good luck

Barry
