Just thought i would share a few thoughts regarding the completion day.
We were very nervous that the solicitor, Keymare, bank manager and us would all turn up at the alloted time at the Notaria and as it happens the solicitor was half hour late.
The documents were printed as were the mortgage documents and translated to us and then we met with Keymare and they provided an owners pack and keys and then we met the Notary for signing. This took two and half hours and luckily the building was air conditioned as it was 41 degrees outside.
We arrived at Thalassa and used our remote control to get in, found the appartment and all was well.
We did a tour round and whilst the appartments are fantastic there is a bit of snagging, oven drawers missing, rusting plates in the bathroom, all pretty minor but will need doing at some point.
Last Friday was very hectic trips to various places to buy the essentials as we were only there till early Sunday morning.
There are one or two others on the complex and we have young Spanish neighbours.
We found a great shop for the patio furniture and they even agreed to deliver at 9.30 on Saturday morning, the name of the place is Flomar on the road to Vera on the right hand side before the roundabout by the Nissan garage.
All in all we are very happy although Thalassa resembles a building site which it is and the properties get very dusty, but sitting on the balcony at 10.00pm looking towards the sea and Vera Playa which had the lights on in temeperatures of mid 20's at that time was brilliant.
Hope this helps and i look forward to meeting some of you when we go over for the family holiday in August.
Hasta Luego

Congrats Badger, Sounds great - Weather sounds a bit warm 41 deg !!!!!
Quick question if you don't mind, 'what do you get in the owners pack?'
(sorry thought of another - 'are you told by Keymare where you can go and where you can't on site?')
Regards,
Gary

It was warm it fluctuated between 37 and 41 degrees for the three days we were out there.
Airconditioning was on at night but early evening open a few windows and patio door and there was a nice breeze.
In the pack was a manual with all the suppliers and fitters nbames and adresses and phone numbers, 5 keys, 2 keys to the post box ans pedestrian entrances and a remote controlled fob for the gate.
Cd which is a copy of the manual in English, for those of you who can't speak Spanish all the manuals for the appliances are in Spanish.
Details of the community officer who does speak English although his staff don't, also what to do if there is any snagging and the customer service department is now on the complex and the entrance to the Thalassa road.
No restrictions on the site although it is very dangerous in places and the indoor pool area is not safe.
Phase 1 is nearing completion but some of phase 2 looks half built.
Hope this helps

Badger,
Congratulations good to hear things are moving along at least...Re the snags do you just report them to the customer service at the site and if so are you aware of the turn-a-round period for fixing the snags?
We are in Phase 2 and have been informed our completition will be from 6th August so we can look forward to it all.
All the very best of luck with your new holiday home.

Wow .. how lovely to hear your positive and reassuring news.
Reading the spec at the back of my contract, it states that duvets are provided. Is this the case and, if so, are they just lightweight ones or does the word "duvet" actually mean the covers we see in the show apartment and promotional literature? Also, would our standard fitted base sheets in the UK fit the double and single beds over there or are they slightly different sizes?
Am slightly worried to read the security issues on the other Al Andalus developments and, with so many people moving in or holidaying, it will be of great interest to the "arrive at 4am barefoot opportunists" as described in posts on this website. Ours is a first floor and, with the steps at the side of the building tucked out of sight, a likely target. How good is the lighting in the evening and security as a whole on the site? I read that Keymare like to keep a key to access properties if there are problems and they are unoccupied, i.e. flooding .. is this true?
Thanks for the recommendation re terrace furniture. Is this also a garden centre to purchase plants, pots, etc? Do they sell the wooden set used by KeyMare in the show apartment as I rather liked that?
Does anyone know the name of the lovely beach with the piece of rock sticking out into the sea used by KM in their promo brochure?
Thanks and good luck to all completing in the next few months

With regrads the keys, Keymare do keep one for snagging issues and they havr changed the spec on the doors compared to the other resorts. The doors are now what we would call 5 lever mortice deadlocks, they are not advising people to change them as it is not that easy and the builders have not had access to them as the doors only go on when the appartment is finished, obviously with snagging issuessome tradesman will have access.
Security: There is a security guard on the gate and ample lighting, there is still a security guard at all times at the entrance road to Thalassa and the security offices for the site are between the Dico & Thalassa sites.
The patio place is actually a muebles not a garden centre and they do have wooden sets but i have not seen the Keymare show house so could not say if they were the same.
Duvets mean lightweight covers not what we could call duvets, that one caught us out. The sheets will fit but remember the pilows provided are the long pillows and the cases will not fit, we purchased new ones from Carrefouer.
Hope this helps.

HI all,
We've just come back from completing which went very smoothly.
There were no quilts when we got there but there's a shop called Tardis in Mojacar where we bought quilts as well as English size pillows. This is particularly goo if you're taking bedding out with you.
PM me if you want to know anything else; I'll put some pics on in the next couple of days Phase 1 and 2 and you'll see how it's coming on.

Just returned from 2 weeks in our Duplex after completing on the 29th June. Had the pool to ourselves for the first few days - but by the time we left it was quite crowded (about 12 people !!! ). The house is lovely - a few minor snags , one major one - water pouring through the downstairs shower room ceiling from the upstairs bathroom on the third day! The builders came and fixed it very quickly but unfortunately last Friday the leak returned . They were straight back round again - told us not to use the upstairs room and are supposedly returning today to carry on with the repairs in our absence. There is still a lot af work to be done in the communal areas but we saw a lot of progress in the time we were there. Every day a new area of block paving or a water feature appeared. The tennis court is open but as it was 32 degrees most days it was pretty hot up there. Our 2 weeks were very hectic with shopping, DIY and exploring the area but we had a fantastic time in our new house and are now booking flights to return as soon as possible. Rumour has it there is to be the first community meeting on the 15th September but haven't had confirmation. Whilst we were there we met several people from the Eye On Spain site. Will upload some photos to the site.
