Hi,
We have just come back from a very enjoyable 2 weeks holiday in La Duquesa. We were delighted with the look of block 17 and managed to have a look at our apartment. The inside looks good and was even painted. However all around it and to the back is a building site and we were told by an estate agent that they will not be released until next Summer. Personally we cannot see how a habitation licence could be given.
Just wondered if there is any word of a commercial centre at top of hill? We were told when purchasing that this is to be built. We feel it is badly needed as we cannot imagine walking up and down that hill in the heat of the day. A car is definitely needed.
I did walk down to the courtyard one evening and it took me 20 mins which wasn't too bad.

Hi, we are purchasing in block 11, having opted out of Arenal and are very pleased with the apartment and surroundings. We were taken to the top of the hill and shown an area where we were told there is to be a nine hole golf course, a supermarket, restaurants etc. We were shown where they have already planted down the middle of the road, so it does seem to make sense. However, the little we have learnt from our experience is to take things with a pinch of salt until they materialise so to speak!
Where is the courtyard please?
And is Duquesa Monte the area on the left going towards the port from Duquesa Village?
Thanks for any replies
Regards M

I was over in Duquesa last week and took about 50 digital photo of almost everywhere around the site. Where abouts is block 15?
If you go down the road at the enterance and turn right, is it the block on the left. They removed a crane from there last week. If you give me some idea of the location, I'll post up the likely photos.

Block 11 is the block you find on your right if you turn left instead of right at the little concrete roundabout just down from the entrance.
Block 15 is the block you first come to when approaching the site along the bumpy road. Block 16 is the block just being built along the bumpy road before the entrance.
Paul the block you describe is 12 and is opposite 17. I saw that crane being removed. Took all day.
Monte duquesa and the courtyard are the same thing. Its where the bars are on the way down to the port.

I have uploaded a couple of site maps showing the block numbers into the shared pictures /construction photos area if that helps. They do date back to 2003 though so they come with a health warning. Interesting to see where the second pool at the bottom was originally going to be located.
Steve
Ps. I would really appreciatte it if someone could post some pictures of the pool between blocks 10 and 12 showing the "fountain" if that is possible.

Steve, See the first two pictures dated 20th July.
If your concern about the fountain is anything to do with mozies, I'm in block 7 and the mozie experience there suggests they come from the river bed at the bottom of the hill. It's very damp down there with pools of water in the rich natural vegetation. I did walk down to take a close look. So the fountain/pond is most likely of little consequence in that regard.
