Have just had the July service charge debited by AEA

It is 33% greater than the last quarter and I am immediately querying with AEA why it has increased, as service charges should be coming down as more apartments are sold.

Just checked mine online its the same as the last quarter, it was taken out today 10th July

I have no idea what ours are as they haven't answered any of my e mails re access to the website and we requested not to have charges debited so they'll have to wait until they get their acts together before they get paid.

 So far the service charges I have paid are :-

 Oct – December    €  647.55

Jan – March          €  394.54

April – June          €  323.07

and now they have taken € 429.23.

As it was agreed at the meeting in March that certain items on AEA’s budget should be scrapped and a refund obtained from the security company who were not doing their job, service charges should be coming down not going up.

 

Michael Just noticed this thread as been too busy by the pool and golf course!! I will try and explain as per my email what happened to me. Mine have risen as has michael's this quarter. I went into AEA on tuesday who explained why it had fluctuated recently. My fees were originally 628. They were then reduced by 128 to 500. At the next payment my fee was 500 but I had a rebate of 128 which meant paying 372 which is what I paid. During this qurter there was another rebate 110 to take it to 390. So next payment was 390 less 110 ie 280 paid in april. There are no rebates due so this month it is correct at 390. I am happy with explainantion but as both Michael and I agree better communications from AEA are the cause of a lot of our issues. Not all but a simple email to explain would have saved me from going nuclear at AEA. Just a thought which has been triggered by a conversation with a president on another development. Why are we getting rebates as the fees come down. Is it because more people are completing or is it simply that RYF have now taken responsibility for more unsold units and to reduce their costs the fees are reduced. All well and good we might say but experience elsewhere suggets that AEA might not be paying invoices, might not have budgeted for a legal fund, might not have a repainting fund. In fact just enbough to cover the basics. Then again call me a cynic and you might be right!!
