Hi folks,
My wife and I are seriously considering investing our money on a Polaris World property at Condado de Alhama or similar resort. Could anyone tell us if the listed prices are fixed or if when your signing up you can strike a deal (reduced list price, white goods included, fees paid etc)?

i used leddingalvinoverseas.com and they paid for all the costs i.e. flights/hotels/car hire and stuff when i returned after viewing condado myself, it mounted to just over 1000 euro, so i would imagine they could allow that 1000 off for u if you went thru them. The prices are all set by polaris and cannot be altered by the agents, trust me i tried offering a bit less and got nowhere. the agents take a cut on their commission id say to make it attractive to go thru them
hoped this helped

Cheers Ace, We're heading over this week for a 2 week holiday and meeting an Agent while there. Obviously we'll not be taking full advantage of any costs connected with an inspection visit as we've already paid our flights and accomodation for our holiday. I can understand Polaris World not reducing their prices as they seem very reasonable already. It's just that from my limited experience, buying anything in Spain is different from the UK in that the price marked is not always what you need to pay. Perhaps if the Agent isn't spending so much on our visit they could sort something.

Have you thought of using an agent who offers cash back?
We didnt but I keep reading about them- maybe someone else can offer some further advice here.
If you like Condado maybe you could post some pictures after your visit. We cant get back for ages and I know building has moved on from the last set of pictures posted.

Will do JHMurcia, I'll be taking the digi camera with me so should have an update for you regards progress.
We,ve already arranged to meet an agent who seems decent. I wouldn't like to start dealing with someone else so near our visit. I'll give him a chance to offer us a deal while trying to give him the vibe that we can walk away at any time.
Will keep you posted.
What type of property have you went for and why? if you don't mind me asking.

i dont think u can just walk away from the agent for the simple reason is that if he registers your passport details with polaris under his name he gets the commission and therefore if you try buy thru another agent the commission still goes back to the person who registered you first so therefore the other agents will not have any interest in u.so dont be in any hurry to give him your details as there might be a better cash back offer out there when u decide to buy.
you should try to buy in los naranjos jardins 1 to 5 as they are between 2 town centres and have the least amount of units per communal pool. el mirador come under new planning laws which state that u have to put solar panels on the roof terrace so dont be in any hurry to buy a 2 bed with roof terrace in elmirador as you will feel like ur living in nasa.
hoped this helped
give me a shout if u need more help.
Ace..

We have bought in Jardines de Alhama garden 7, a two bed. Seemed a good location for the Foro but not right on top of the sports facilities- though near enough for our sons. Also just a good stroll to the Oasis. There seem to be many good locations.

Cheers Guys, All great advice. Glad I found this site now before I part with my cash. Will keep in touch and get photos when I'm there. If I don't think of anymore questions before Thursday I'll speak to you all in a couple of weeks.
