I too was told that they were building a comercial centre at the top of the hill and there was also a new road planned to join the Toll road for easier access. The path down to the port was also mentioned on my first visit with FYR then on my second visit another guy told me it was not possible???
Not sure what to to think...

Hi everyone, we completed on our property in the Village today! We are excited and cant wait to get out, which hopefully will be in a week or so time!!
We too were told about the commercial centre, plus a nine hole golf course at the top of the hill, and the new road. We were shown that the trees were already planted down the centre of the road. There are supposed to be restaurant, bar etc. When we were at the "commercial" site in July, the workman were actually delivering building materials. Has anyone looked up there lately?

You seem to be referring to the short stretch of dual carrageway that is just above DV. Turning right out of the DV enterance and going up hill.
I went that way several times in early September. It did not seem to have moved at all since July.
There were some piles of building material and also some road foundations running to the west.
I jogged along the road foundations which seem to go on for several kilometres. It looks as though there are plans to build across the entire valley as the roads extend and branch
to give that impression over a large estate.
Given the state of the market it would be surprising if they were to start building more residential units.
If the whole development is to be constructed as one project then that will delay the commercial building too.
I'm there again in November so I'll make a comparison with the September position.
regards
Paul

I must admit, we were never told about anything happening at the top of the hill, although it would be great if there was a commercial centre there, so handy. I do recall reading some time ago about a road connecting up to the AP7, but that's about it.
Does this info come from the Manilva authority? Can anybody confirm the plans?

If it were to connect to the AP 7 they woud most likely use the connection just to the North of Manilva. A new connection further west would be too expensive as it would need a new bridge and the also the AP7 is in a deep cutting west of that link.
You can actually get to that link today but you have to travel on rough track that is not too good for cars - although I have seen cars using it. The locals (farmers) use it.
There a disadvantage to use that route because you get caught with another toll.
This road is part of the route that I 've written about in the DV WetPaint. See walk to the wind turbines which has a few pictures.

We had also been told that a commercial centre would be built also, plus a link to the Toll Road.
Ultimately the Commercial centre will be down to economics. If there is suffcient demand then someone will build it.
We also understood that beyond DV (inland) another golf course would be built with another 1500 villa's/apartments. Last we heard was that Ros Y Falcon were having 2nd thoughts on this & may not complete the project themselves. With subsequent downturn in market, would suspect that no further development will take place for a few years at least.
On earlier posts, coments re transport down to the Marina have been made. Over the past couple of years we have stayed at a friends apartment at Calahonda when visiting the Costa Del Sol. During that time a tourist tractor bus has been set up serving the developments a couple of miles inland & up the hill behind the resort.
Again this must have been driven by economics & demand. Once DV is finished & fully sold, plus the other developments in between us & the Marina then there may well be sufficient demand for a similar service.
Ultimately everything is down to supply & demand and ability for someone to make money.

We are on Coto Real which is another of RYF, there should have been three phases but he has stopped at two, there is no demand and looks like he is having trouble selling phase two which we have bought on, I have an awful feeling we might be the only one's on it when It's ready in December, every time I ask the sales dept how many have been sold on phase two I just get fobbed of with a stupid answer, I'm going to ask outright when we go over in Nov as I woud hate it if we are on our own, even the message board for Coto Real, no one answers from phase two it's only a few on phase one.

I too would support some sort of regular transport from DV to port.
There is traffic and parking chaos in the port and Sabinnillas at busier times. When the development is completed and there is more widespread occupation the situation will get much worse. Cars are abandoned on the hill near the garden centre, which is quite dangerous towards the top of the hill.
DV is still virtually empty - whats it going to be like when everybody has moved in?
There is an hourly bus route down from Manilva. Why not from DV?? I'm sure that will will haveto happen eventually to relieve traffic and parking problems.
This will just make getting from a to b easier to have a meal or a drink and will add to the enjoyment of the area.

Personally, I think this is something that the municipality should provide at some point in the future - not something that we, as a community, should provide. I hope that, as the developments on El Hacho are starting to complete and be occupied, then maybe the Manilva Council will look to provide public transport.
It would be a very expensive exercise to implement a service such as this to serve just a few communities on El Hacho and, I believe, would increase our "El Hacho" contributions (which are still being appealled and we will probably end up paying for this anyway!!) and/or our IBI (property tax) to Manilva Council, as well as our community fees! We have to think how often we would benefit from a regular service such as this, or even a seasonal service.
Yet another point that, should the El Hacho community succeed in its establishment, we have to monitor to our advantage!
