Just back from Murcia. Reserved a Penthouse Apartment in Condado de Alhama. Took loads of photos, which I'll download and send to anyone interested.

Spoke to loads of people one of which was a Polaris World girl who has a friend in the local council so she knew a few proposals that aren't on the plan yet.

The scale of the resort and facilities is to be like a spanish town in it's own right.

Up beside the sports area (football pitches etc) on the left as you will come into the resort, there will be a Fire Station & Hospital, (possible School).

Approval has been given for a luxury Hotel on a par or better than Mar Menor Hotel. Not confirmed as to it's exact position yet though.

You may already know this but the building at the back of Los Naranjos (across the main road) is the Winery with vine yards.

There is a proposal for a Beach Club at Mazarron as well as the one at La Manga.

From discussons with people from Polaris who seemed genuine enough Condado is to be, obviously the biggest but The Best of all the resorts!

I drove along a dirt track just outside the site boundary along the side of Jardines de Alhama. I coudn't believe how far on it was. I'd say 100% of Jardines are formed with concrete floors ceilings and columns. 50% have been filled between the columns with brick to form windows and doors ready for plaster/rough cast. The road along the back of the Jardines is down and in use with contractors vans etc. It even has Palm trees running down the central reservation.

I coudn't get near the Los Naranjos area but I'd imagine it's not quite as far on, however I could be wrong.

Have just returned from Puerto Mazarron and am seriously considering investing in a 2 bed apartment in Conado de Alhama. However as I know nothing about golf or golf resorts I am totally boggled which section to buy in. I am thinking that the 2 bed penthouses on Los Naranjos might be more rentable.  Does anyone know current prices  or can give any suggestions

We've bought at Los Jardines- a 2 bed. I think all 3 Jardines style apartments will have rental value if thats what you want. After all there will be 3 golf courses eventually. In fact I think its hard to decide which part of the resort will be better as they all seem to have their own qualities- Los Jardines will be ready first so may offer earlier rental opportunties so may establish a customer base earlier- other than  that I feel its hard to weigh Jardines, Naranjos and Mirador against each other as the apartments are going to be similar.

I will be going back to the area next month so will do as much research as I can before I make my decision. Have you been given any indication of community/maintenance fees?

I see you mention the penthouses on Los Naranjos- they obviously have the view factor and are closer to the club house. We like the roof terrace on the Jardines style properties but I do think the penthouses have a lot to offer.

We keep looking at the penthouses on Los Naranjos, it would be nice having the golf course views but in the end we are happy with our 2 bed in Los Jardines as we like the prospect of having a large roof terrace for sunbathing, barbacues etc.. In the end we've got one of the 2 beds at the top of Jardine 5 so you never know we might see some of the course, just depends what they build in front of us.

One thing to bear in mind if you look at the 2 bed apartments on Mirador is that part of the roof terrace will be took up by solar panels, obviously this will help with the electric costs but at the expense of the lost terrace.
