I purchased an apartment in Arenal Golf, Phase 4, Block 4. Does anyone have any information re completion date?

I have also bought on phase 4, block 4 and was informed that the completion date is Feb 2008. This information came from my solicitor who attended the meeting with the the new construction company.  When I have contacted the help desk or Nuri they have not stated a date.

if you have been told you will compleate in feb08 for block 4 do you know if blocks 123 are included  as we have not been told anylthing and i am phoneing gerems every week  also we spoke to our solicitor last week and he told us they have still not been in touch with him

in fact they are refusing to let our mortgage company do a valuation saying no one can enter the property untill the last licene come.s  from the town hall

I was told phase 4 would be completed in Jan 2007.Since then I have seen and read on many many occasions different dates by no end of purchasers.They have all come and gone and still we keep speculating .The truth is we have not got a clue.

NOW THAT WE ARE NEARLY A YEAR  OVER DATE  IF MY PROPERTY IN PHASE 4 IS NOT HANDED OVER IN THE

NEXT FOUR WEEKS  THEN I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION  AND SUE  CAJA SUR AS THE BANK   IS RESPONSIBLE AS

THE OWNERS OF THIS DEVELOPMENT THEY SHOULD HAVE SORTED OUT  THIS MESS  MONTHS AGO

NOBODY  WANTS TO ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS THEY JUST KEEP PASSING THE BUCK

THE  SO CALLED CENTRE OF ATTENTION FOR CLIENTS TO  INFORM AND ANSWER ALL WE WISH TO KNOW IS 

FICTION.    AS THE ONLY ANSWERS YOU GET THEY DONT KNOW

I HOPE  THE SITE OFFICE READS THIS AS  I HAVE NAMES AND DATE OF WHO I SPOKE TO AND WHAT ANSWERS

THEY GAVE THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A LOAD OF CRAP   WHEN YOU PHONE  ABOUT THE DELAY  THEY SAY IF YOU

DONT WANT TO WAIT  YOU CAN HAVE YOUR DEPOSIT BACK   ! WELL !  I DONT WANT IT BACK I WANT MY

APARTMENT AS  STATED IN CONTRACT

Hi Babe,

I share your annoyance its hard to believe its almost a year since our apartments were due to be completed.I feel Prienesur approach to us all is they think or are selling the apartments regardless of people pulling out.So for spite and I hope most hold on and complete on their apartments.

I want to hold on to the apartment as I feel that it is a good investment.  I feel frustrated as I have had to transfer six rentals to my friends on phase3, so have lost out on the rental fee.  I have just took another booking as one of the bookings fell in love with the place and has booked for May  08.  I will be so pxxxxd  off if this booking falls through ,  like you all I just want to settle into the apartment.

Babe  I am going out to Spain on the 22nd Nov so will try to find out some info, if I can.

Our understanding of the situation is that completion on Blocks 1,2&3 was held up due to the problem with the collapsed drain. The work was completed on the 19th October. Following that a satisfactory inspection and subsequent report had to be presented to and approved by the Local Council in Benalmadena. I would imagine that until Priene Sur receive that approval from the local council none of their employees be it in the Sales Office or in Head Office in Cordoba will be able to tell us when completion will take place. Once the approval is received we will then be notified by Priene Sur through our lawyers that we have 4 weeks in which to make the necessary financial arrangements.

Our experience whilst living here during the last year ,whilst waiting to complete on our apartment in Block 3, is that there is a lot more bureaucracy here than in the UK. Being as optimistic as possible I cannot see us moving in till some time in January at the earliest.

In terms of the other Blocks, once they have been competed, the Habitation licence has to be applied for and approved and once it is granted purchasers will be given the same 4 week period to make the necessary financial arrangements.

Like everyone else we are also frustrated and anxious to move. Our belongings including, all our Christmas decorations, are still in storage in Malaga where they have been since the end of last November, however we have no choice but to wait for the necessary bureaucratic processes to be completed. What keeps us positive is the knowledge that we have bought on what will be a fantastic development in a couple of years time.

Thanks for the information Ken and Jenny.  I agree that the complex once established will be worth waiting for.  Its just hard at times not to get a little down hearted.  Hopefully the new year will bring movement.

Would it be a good idea to create some kind of Official Owners Group (or future owners..) to be in a position to poll our resources and carry more weight in the discussions with the developper? If we are all unhappy with the delays shouldn't we organize? The developper would act differently if he's got to deal with a bunch of unhappy folks with the collective leverage instead of isolated cases. What do you think?

I think that in this case the developper and the Bank are practically the same. CajaSur who finances the project owns 100% of PrienSur (the developper)

We were meant to be buying on Phase 6 and was obviously not ready on the agreed date of Sept 30th . So we applied for our deposit back. According to our lawyers they have not even replied to our request so we are faced with taking litagation the price qouted to us for this is 8000 euros.

Even though their attitude in the sale office is if you don't like it get your money back ,they don't make that easy either.

I agree with your idea on grouping together , the power is in a group rather than individuals. I also think that it is a brillant site and we were hoping to buy on an early stage if/when we get our money back.

I  AGREE WE SHOULD ALL STICK TOGETHER  BUT ON THE OTHER HAND IT SHOULD BE OUR SOLICITORS  PUSHING FOR COMPLETION  THATS WHAT WE ARE PAYING THEM FOR .        I DONT KNOW WHAT OTHER  SOLICITORS ARE DOING BUT OURS SEEMS CONTENT  TO JUST SIT BACK WHILE  WE SUFFER DELAY AFTER DELAY .     ANY INFORMATION WE GET COMES FROM THIS FORUM APART FROM DRAWING UP THE CONTRACT  HE HAS DONE NOTHING ELSE TO TRY AND GET THINGS MOVING .         WE ASKED HIM TO CONTACT THE LOCAL COUNCIL  TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE LAST LICENCE  . HE TOLD US HE COULD NOT DO IT WE JUST HAVE TO WAIT

WELL THIS MAY SOUND LIKE GOOD NEWS .   BUT NOT TO ME IT SEEMS VERY LIKELY THAT THIS IS JUST  ANOTHER DATE PLUCKED OUT OF THE AIR BY DEVELOPERS . AS ONCE AGAIN THERE IS ( NOTHING FIRM)  ABOUT IT AT ALL .              AT THIS PRESENT TIME I DO NOT HOLD UP MY HOPES TO THIS HAPPENING MUCH BEFORE CHRISTMAS AS WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THESE BOGUS COMPLETION DATES MANY TIMES BEFORE
