I have been watching the progress of the clubhouse over the months as I occasionally drive by on the motorway, and I think it looks a bit.......strange. I was hoping it would be an impressive building like at La Torre or Hacienda Del Alamo, but it appears to be a more modern construction which personally I find less appealing. Admittedly, I haven´t seen it up close yet (last time I was in the complex at Roda it was dark), so hopefully its beauty is more apparent close up!! Any comments............

I have along with many other fellow golfers in  Roda been very impressed with the new clubhouse having seen it close up.

This building is stunning and worth leaving the motorway in daylight to have another look.

 

The official opening has been delayed until Marz 08. This is due to a delay with the contractors finishing off the work.

The PGA tourniment will still take place 1st week in Dec which means the course will be closed from Wed 28th, reopen the following Thur. ??. To be sure you need to check with golf reservations in case of changes.

I was in Roda at the weekend and had a tour of the new clubhouse which is absolutely fantastic and has spectular views of the course and surrounding area including the Mar Menor. It is definitely worth a tour if anyone is out soon.  

Sugarmummy your information regarding the contractors is incorrect as there is very little work to be completed and the delay has nothing to do with the contractors. I played in the Pro Am at the weekend and the contractors were working on Saturday dealing with the finishing touches to the building which are now under way. 

The building will be completely finished in time for the PGA tournament. However there is a hold up in the actual opening until end of Feb 08.  

I am going out tomorrow for a few weeks hoping to get some golf in, when does the PGA tournament start?
I will certainly look forward to the clubhouse tour and finding my personal locker as a rights holder, hope it will all be finished on time.

The golf may have to wait for a few days as I still have to sort out my snagging problems which Roda have still not completed, it is such a shame that with such a great resort they have to let down the owners with poor service on the technical side.

The tourn starts on Frid 30th Nov and will be over 4 days. The course will also be closed on wed/thu28/29th for the pro-am and practice.

IVE JUST SPOKEN TO PROSHOP AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE COURSE IS SHUT FROM26TH NOV TILL 4TH DEC FOR PRO AM AND COMP.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE NEW CLUBHOUSE IS OPEN FOR FOOD AND DRINK YET?

Does anyone know what will happen to the old clubhouse?  Will it be demolished or used for drinks/snacks?

i was told that old clubhouse will be used as admin offices for pga/course etc.

The PGA training facility and the driving range will be open after the end of the competition.

The club house will not open until early March due to delays with the contractor. Its 90% finished but its the last 10% thats holding up completion. Its sounds the same as completion on fazes 1 & 2. !!

Everything is looking fantastic and I had the full tour which was very impressive. The old clubhouse will be in operation until the new clubhouse is commissioned fully.   

Regarding the old clubhouse as I recall it will be part of the new spa-anyone visiting can look at the model in the sales office. Good to hear reported comments of the quality of the new clubhouse

Just to clarify the situation ref the opening date.

Unless the general manager of Devere Roda has his facts wrong the situation is as follows.

Calidona have had some delays with the construction company and the cluhouse will only be 90% finished by Dec 1st.

There are urbanization works and some pre-opening operational works to be completed and the planned opening is early March 08.

If that is the case then thet is not good for us becurse the new clubhouse is inportend to all of us. End if you are renting then this a big fact for us. This is like evrething alse regarding Roda golf nothing stends what we where told in the first place. I for won dont like it !!!

The club house is fantastic!

It has, like everything else in Spain, been victim of delays, something which I can assure you Calidona would like to avoid at all costs as it is a financial burden to them, as it would be to any company.

Instead of worrying from the UK about what is or isn't happening and visiting this site to be "miss-informed" get yourself a proper company to help you enjoy your property.

has anyone got an update as to when the club house is to be opened or is it still March 08.

what are they doing with the old club house will it still be a coffee bar or something or do they intend to pull it down?

the last i was told ws that they are going to use the old clubhouse for admin but i agree with hevs , it would be great if they kept it as a bar or coffeee house!

I don´t believe that they will pull the old clubhouse down, I believe it is to be used for as the offices for the PGA, I am quite certain they will not keep it as a bar / coffee bar, this will take business from the main clubhouse and to provide staff for 2 premises to provide the same service is simply not feasable.

They have spent an absolute fortune on the new clubhouse, they will want it used to it´s maximum potential, I for one would rather have my refreshments in the new clubhouse, it is just sensational and the views from those terraces are wow!!

As I recall in October we viewed the model in the Sales Office at the main Roda entrance and it forms part of the spa
