When I was out at PP mid October, there 'appeared' to be no work being carried out on the Aifos development on the hill to the side of PP. 2 people I spoke to seemed to think that the work had been stopped because it had been an illegal build i.e. no permission to go ahead. Does anyone have any other information on the status of the 'build'?

When we were there in August they were working on the site, we went back in October and a couple of people I spoke to are of the understanding that the builders have "abandoned" the site. Not sure why, maybe they didn't have planning permission. It's a shame because they have left behind big concreted areas and a hillside covered in safety nets.

Thanks for first reply. It looks though that you are at the same level as us only 'having' heard that it has been abandoned. We agree it has been completely spoilt and left a mess, although we have seen other places abanded in mid-build with cranes etc left in situ and that would have been even worse!!
Would like to hope to God they have gone for good and not short term and that nature will do what it does best, eventually, and make it look half decent again.
Would still like to know if anyone does know exactly what the "score" is with this monstrosity.
Cheers!

I have been scouring the internet for the answer to this question and it appears this is typical of this developer. It would appear that they put the foundations in as the absolute minimum to get the first payments from the people who have bought and then abandon the site until they have the licenses in place.
At this point it could go either way, the good news will be when their equipment is taken away thats when it'll be pretty clear they're not coming back
But has anyone enquired with the developer directly?

Hi Crazyplum
No have not checked with the developers directly, but on their web site @ www.aifos.com, when looking under Off Plan developements we think we have identified Calahonda Hills as being the planned development use this direct link to take you to that page
Is there anyone living out in Spain using this site who could make an enquiry?

Hi Darren,
Your right the development is called Calahonda hills I had put it on another post I think called bulldozers next to the gate??? Not sure!
I am here in Spain the only problem is Aifos don't seem to reply to my emails and I can't ring whilst i'm at work. I think one of there offices is close to my work though so I may be able to go one lunch time although I doubt they'll be very forth coming.
I'll see what I can find, I have known of another development in Riviera where Aifos laid the foundations and two years later they have cleared all their stuff from the site! Its an awful mess though!
I'll let you know if Aifos tell me anything

Have just been out to PP over Xmas, latest info I was able to get on the 'building site' was that it is too soft to build on hence why Aifos can not get planning permission to build and have been ordered to put the hill back to its original state!!!!
As always we have to wait and see.

Hi Liz
We have friends who live out there at a complex very near to PP. They have a good friend at the same complex who 'appears' to be in the know about these things and this is where the latest info has come from.
Like yourselves we are keeping our fingers crossed it is true......but even it is can't believe Aifos will be rushing to do repair work on the hill in the near future!!

Hi Darren,
Looks like bad news on the development next door!!
I have just had an email from Aifos who are the developers confirming that they do have a license for the build which they can present to someone wishing to view the area and that completion is due in approx 22 months.
I don't know how much of this is true but it contradicts all the rumours unfortunately :-(

Oh S..t!!
I did e-mail them making an enquiry on their availability for off plan property at Calahonda Hills but as of yet have had no reply back to the enquiry.
If completion is due in 22 months then why is there no activity at the moment?

Hehehe!!!
I know how you feel, I don't know why theres no construction at the minute or whether they're actually telling the truth about the development I guess we'll just have to see what happens unless we can get someone to pretend to be a buyer & go and meet the developer!

Over to you then as we are back in the UK. I am sure you must have a friend for the price of a jug of Sangria or 2!! who could be a 'keen' buyer?
Keep us up to date and anyone else out there who knows anything will appreciate any info.
THANKS

Was out the last 2 weekends and the greenery on the hill had got better even in a week. The fact that the portakabins are still there doesn't bode well for them not coming back.
Anyone else got problems with their trastero? The external wall in ours is very wet and it fills up with mud. Could be they have simply shoved all the earth right up against the garages wall with no retaining wall in place. It is unusable and I am going to try to get in touch with them to fix it.
Moira (Darren's neighbour)
