Hi All,
We have just found out that our air conditioning unit is in fact faulty and is being changed on Tuesday. We only found out because Val is there at the moment and needs to heat the apartment at night. Had we not been there at this time of year we would perhaps not have know for a while. By which time the guarantee could have been up. So I do urge everyone to test for heating as well when you are next at Thalassa!

We tried the heating last week and it was not brilliant ,but we presumed that it was just not very good for that function.It has a complicated system a room and i-feel controls ,but you good not actually feel warm air coming through.

Could be that the compressor needs re-gassing, although I tend to agree with KenShaz that the units are not the best heaters.
We purchased two heaters for the bathrooms from Carrefour, they resemble air-con units, but are actually halogen heaters, reasonably priced at just under €25 each. Still feel that additional heating will be necessary though.
Has anyone tried having a bath now that the weather has turned cold? A word of caution.........your bum FREEZES even if the water is hot!!!
Does anyone have a contact number for a qualified gas fitter? If so, can you PM with details please?

Hi my air-con wasn’t working when we were over last week,I went too see Keymare on the Sunday and they sent someone around within about 3 hours, They guy seem to let some of the gas out of the unit on the balcony, after he did that the air-con was pumping hot air out. In fact after about an hour we had to turn it off as it got to warm!!!!

Hi All,
'good news the air conditioning is woking properly now and it has been repaired' This was the confirmation from KM with the good news. Only to find that on arrriving today that far from being repaired, the unit on the balcony still had the parts missing!!
We were hoping that we would be able to take their word, that they had made sure that the work had been completed.

We have just returned and yes they repaired the air-conditioning ,guess what ,one of the supply pipes was blocked with solder,therefore it has it never worked,from the very first day.
I was also told by Gemma that it is the responsibility of the owner to ring the air-conditioning company (they only speak Spanish) and she was just being helpful. This message was last edited by kenshaz on 3/5/2008.

On our last visit, our aircon wasn't functioning properly either. A visit to the KeyMare office the next morning, and their site mgr turned up less than 1 hour later with the aircon technicians and all was sorted in approx 20 mins. It seems they forgot/neglected to connect it up properly. Now while I guess it's likely we were fortunate the guys were on site or close by at the time, as has been stated before, there's no substitute for taking outstanding snags to KM in person.
Kenshaz - I spoke to Gema directly too and she made no mention of it being up to me to contact the suppliers. I guess we just need to be firm with them (I was) and hope they got out of the right side of bed that morning......
