Thanks Marvin, I am now equally as excited as although there were lots of activity is was all foundation work but now that buildings are actually being built I become less apprehensive about the license although it will be such a relief to get final confirmation that all is in order.
Thanks for the update

Hi all, just received a reply from my Solicitor regarding current License situation. She stated that the Architect from the Town Hall is about to sign the corresponding documents in order to allow the Building License to be issued and that their Legal Department has confirmed that the developer has obtained permission to commence the building construction although the Building License has not been issued yet. The License is expected to be obtained before the end of the month.

I just recieved an email from my agent and is as follows :
We are pleased to update all of our clients on the latest information we have received in relation to construction progress at Corvera Golf & Country Club site. We are very pleased to advise that
Calidona have now received permission to start construction, this is expected to be officially signed this month. Work has however now started on the block for Phases 1 and 2 which Calidona
hope to complete at the same time. The developer has forecasted completion for Phases 1 & 2 to be May 2009
Although the signing hasn't happenned yet the development appears to be up and running. We're on our way !

Hello all
i have just returned from a weeks holiday at spain and i can confirm that a tremendous amount of buiding work has been done at corvera, lots
of concrete structures already up to 2nd and in places 3rd storey, loads of concrete lorries coming and going in convoy without breaks.
scaffolding errected around different blocks, took loads of pictures of development but dont know how to transfer to picture thread.
since the pictures issued by corvera in november showing foundations, there has been loads of work done, if they keep up the rate they are going i have
no doubt that phase 1 and 2 will be competed by the middle of next year.
it was a suprise and some what a relief to see first hand on the progress made
regards dave

Hi Dave and Kev,
Thanks both for your very positive updates. I'm getting really excited about the progress and will be going out there first week in Feb so hopefully can update you further on my return.
Dave, in relation to picture uploading never done it myself but if you post on forum help I'm sure someone can advise. It would be great to see the photos.
Cheers
Chris

Bye Bye Bored, or is it BORING. I for one truly hope that you are successful in recovering your deposit monies. If you don't then it means you will probably have to complete and I for one would hate to have such a negative neighbour within the perimiter fence!

Hello bored
have faith, i am not empoyed or have any ties with calidona over and above being a client, concrete is concrete wherever it is poured, the fact they have at last
employed a large number of workmen on site and are making progress does not necassarily mean poor workmanship as yousuggest,
if you think roda is a superior develoment i suggest you change your contract and buy at roda, i know this can be done, they are not really bothered where you live as
long as you pay up.
i for one am pleased at the progress.
illegal build, we are covered by our bank guarantees, i have worked in the building industry for over 30 years and i can assure you that speed does not mean poor build,
in fact on most occasions quite the opposite, you tend to find that the poor builders take for ever, due to the fact that they dont know what their doing.
try to keep posotive, we are all in the same boat, im sure we will receive an official commencement date soon, by the way i have asked my independant
lawyer to contact the town hall direct to get some clarification on this matter.

Hey bored, you sound really peeved, good luck with suing the developer, join a long list of very unsuccessful people who thought they would sue Polaris, be carefull that you don´t throw good money after bad.
Lawyers are the same in Spain as they are in the UK, they will tell you have a great case, but you don´t and I am quite certain you don´t.
Unfortunately this is the nature of buying off-plan abroad, incidentally, I do not work for Corvera nor Calidona generally, but I do think that it will be the very best resort in Spain in about 3 or 4 years.
I would also suggest that the De Vere group and the PGA of Europe have in fact done their homework, that is why they chose to enter in to this arrangement in the first place, for the record, the first such agreement for both professional organisations ever!
There is a different culture in Spain regarding most things, us Brits think just because English is now more widely spoken, that there are now significant similarities between our 2 nations and cultures, well there are not, things are done differently in Spain, I am not saying I agree with them, in fact I always get frustrated with the differences, but I went in to all my property purchases with my eyes wide open, it would appear you did not.
You should consider very carefully your next step, it sounds like you may be going in to something else "blind"
I am truly sorry you have had such a bad experience, I always say this, but who was your agent, they may be partly to blame simply for the lack of information and aftersales.
My advice would be to sit tight, if not, try to sell your unit, contact a number of agents, if you have the right property, somebody will buy it.

Great posts particularly Steve's in response to borings contribution to this thread. I am certainly not an employee of Calidona merely someone who has an ambition
to retire in the sun on a high quality resort. I am not in this for a quick buck and although like most if not all of you all on this forum have been frustrated by lack of progress
I have always felt that the end game was worth waiting for. I do not believe that I am gullible and feel that the delays are certainly not unusual for this type of project in a
country where bureaucracy does rear it's ugly head all too often.
I might be wrong but I suspect boring is not in this for the long term hence his frustration at not getting a quick return on his deposit!

Don't know if it is just my PC but this thread is getting wider and wider on the page.
It doesn't make easy reading. Having to scroll to the side constantly. It's driving me nutty!!
Might I suggest if this is the case for the rest, could we restart this thread. Petty moan I know but this thread is the most
important one that we are all watching at the moment lets make it user friendly.
PS This started on my screen after photo was posted

Hi Cazbaz & all
I know what you mean about the extra wide page. As you suggested I think that pkl inadvertently caused the problem when he placed the photo on the message board, if he wouldn't mind removing the photograph this problem should be resolved. It can then be uploaded using the photo link above on to the Corvera Golf section.

OK let's get one thing right - Corvera is happening and to be honest happening extremely quickly. Having visited this week the activity on site has to be seen to be believed, no matter how many photos are taken it simply does not do justice to the labour taking place currently 7 days a week. In some cases building work is up to first and second floor. What was also pleasing was the extent of investment and renovation work taking place in Corvera town itself.
Whilst in the area drove to where the new airport is due to be built - to our amazement it only took 5-10 minutes from Corvera. For a comparison I would approximate it as the same time to get from Roda Golf to San Javier Airport and plane noise at Roda is absolutely minimal not even registering as background noise due to the orientation of the side on runway. The Corvera development also sits in a 'bowl' meaning any potential noise would be blocked still further
Let us all look forward to sitting on our balconies thinking what a great decision we made in chosing Corvera. See you there in May 09 if not before!!
Pictures posted.

Thanks Icspain and welcome to the forum. Heartening news. I live 10 minutes from Cardiff International Airport, with almost no noise - we are in a dip on the coast and it all seems to depend on weather conditions and how busy the airport is - so agree with your observations.
Please clarify whether you have posted any photos - I can't see any new ones since Dave's posting. Your message says picture posted.

Yeah great post and thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing the photos when uploaded sucessfully.
I am over in Spain next week and would also be interested in seeing the Corvera airport site. Is it easy to find from the complex? Could you give me directions if possible.
Cheers

hello all
photos should be updated straight away, i found that you can only update a couple at a time, i tried to update six at a time which is says you can do, but when i tried it did not respond.
i agree the pictures do not really do justice to the amount of work being carried out, i was amazed at how much had been done, the pictures are compressed, the original pictures show so much more.
has anybody had any news on when we may receive official confirmation of commencement.
ps have they done any work on the new airport site, cleared any ground etc
regards dave

Thanks Icspain for your positive posting and info regarding Corvera town. Great news all round. What seems to be the kind of investment being made in the town - is it just apartments or does it appear that commercial units being added.
Anita.
