Water Charges

My Spanish Bank Account was recently debited with the sum of €203.96 by Codeur SA (the water provider). We moved into our apartment last June and have only stayed there for approximately three weeks since so our water consumption would have been low. A sum of €14.13 was also debited by Codeur last October. Has anybody else had a similar experience?

This could possibly be the "set-up" of  your account with Codeur which is a "one-off" payment.

Maybe they didn't take it the first time round? Shall we say, an oversight on their part?!

We paid €202.36 set up fee to Codeur so, as Lorraine says, this what your payment probably is.

Many thanks for all your help in clarifying this matter. Actually I didn't pay an initial start up fee so this is obviously what it is. All the information and advise provided on this site is much appreciated.

My first water bil was 19euro in November, which was for busy summer period, I have just noticed my january payment has been taken from my bank and it is for 83 euro which seems very expensive for two months compared to the last one.

I also paid a set up fee of around 200 euro.

What bills have other people received lately for water?

We paid about €200 for set up back in November & had a bill for €10.10 last week

Hi Stuart,

Our first bill (without the set-up charge) was for 41€.

This was for the months of August and September when we were constantly swilling the terraces (due to the building work) and establishing numerous planters and pots, not to mention a constant stream of visitors (no pun intended!)

Will have to check my bank statement for the other months but can't remember being alarmed at any "large" amounts for bill payments, other than the electricity.

Latest water charge as at 19th January was for 31.44€

Again, I live here permanently and always have some family or friends staying, so don't think its too bad, just can't wait to see the electricity bill, think I might need to sit down for that one!!

Just resurrecting this thread. We completed in December on another AA site and still haven't heard anything from Codeur. Is there any way of contacting them to find out what/ when/ if they are going to take some money? It is getting to be a pain in the rear end having to make sure all funds in the account take into account this "ghost"amount that they may take one day!!
