hi from newbie

I have just gotten off the phone with my agent and they have said that completions on arenal duquesa have been delayed until monday.  Even then they are not definate.  I know some of you were due to complete on the 17th (yesterday) like me and presume we all having the same problem but would be interested to know if anybody did actually sign.   We were told yesterday that the signing would be the 18th instead (today) but, having spent all day today trying to find out if we have or have not got the bloody thing, i eventually get through to somebody who informed me no, we haven't signed.

My lawyer didn't even phone me to tell me and would not take calls.  I understand that there can be problems at completion stage but i am livid that nobody seems to care.   We have flights booked for 23rd with furniture arriving that day and cleaning being done over this weekend (well not now!). 

How is everyone else getting on?  I hope the ones out there now to complete haven't been delayed too.   I'm starting to panic about all the other stuff i have arranged not being able to go on now too.  Furniture company charging me 600 euros if i change the date we have agreed

even better news for everyone.  i have just been told that it is due to the habitation licence not being signed in the first place.  issued but not signed they said.  whatever that means.

We too have been postponed until Monday, solicitor has just emailed. Funny thing is we still have not received our final breakdown, which I have requested before we complete. Curious and curiouser....I don't really hold a lot out for Monday either...sorry .

Jeez, this whole development reads like a roller coaster thriller - just make it into a blockbuster movie and have a best seller.

Seriously though, it's maybe just a few last minute glitches.....

no, it all stinks.  i can smell it.  Everybody is telling me different things.  And i have had to chase every single bit of information i have all day today and yesterday.  Lawyer didn't even ring yesterday to say hadn't signed, or today to tell us not today either.  I have had to ring half of spain to find out what is going on and even now i am not clear.  One person told me problem at notary regarding LFO.   Another said problem wi th bank.  Another said developer didn't come today.  And another said the whole development been put off until monday.

I am hoping and hoping that monday is it.   otherwise i will be out there kicking butt, having spent money AGAIN on 4 flights, a hotel, a fine for furniture and 300quid for a bloody clean!.  only to repeat it again next time they promise completion.  They can stick their tv up their back sides, i want a ferrari!

We received our final breakdown a few weeks ago laurden after we requested it.  

What was your reason they have given for delay laurden?

Hi there Im quie new do this site and I bought back in July 2003 in Arenal Block 7 22 apt b. My lawyer has been excellent all the way through and has always kept me up to date. I was due to complete yesterday but he called to say it will now not be until the 17th of February.

I have been cautious booking any flights or furniture stuff until I start to get an unhappy developer getting stroppy because he wants his money. THEN and only THEN I will transfer money and book flights

i wish i had been this cautious too.  However, i think we were confident of completion this time because they started offering free tv's if completed before 24th january and therefore, we thought they were definately ready and wanted completions asap.   Unfortunately, i am becomming more and more unhopeful that completion date number 3 for me on monday may not actually happen.

I arrive for sign title deed to Spain at 12/01 and will be sign 23/01. We (I and my lawyer) check documents together before. Not all necessary document (for Spain legislation) ready. My sign tiitle deed change at after 11/02/08. They said my lawyer that till this date all necessary documents will be available. Good news: today they start doing road at the back side of phase 2. I talk with driver of truck at work this road. He confirm me that road build Prienesur and payments they get well. At the phase 1 not mooving. I was here 1 month before and was today - all same. But at the swimming-pool work today waterpump, but workers is absent. May be they work only nights ? Maria in the office confirm me that at monday they will sign first title deed. In office stand four packets with gifts. Maria said at monday for sign title deed will arrive "big boss" from Cordoba. Very funny if they have not all necessary documents.

I don't want to sound pessimistic but we were saying this, this time last year. 

 I don't know what to believe anymore, my friends all think that the apartment is a figment of my imagination.  It's not is it???         is it????
