hi from newbie

I hope it wasn't a lie Vllad.  i was assured that two of mri's clients had been and signed on friday.  We had spoken to MRI on sat morning to explain that we are no longer happy to sit without shouting. We had been 'nice' for too long about this and wanted some of their promised help.  We have been messed around by everybody for too long and to be told the signing day was 17th then moved to 18th and not even a phone call to say that it didn't happen then is terrible business and just plain rude!. The manager i spoke to said over and over that people had in fact signed on friday.  'Two of her clients had definately signed'. 

Given that our biggest complaint to them was all the lies we have been told, i sincerely hope that this too was not another downright lie. She gave us some hope that this will be sorted by monday and that everything should still go ok for clean and furniture and our arrival wed.  Now after listenning to what people are saying on here i am expecting yet another disastrous week out there.  My intention if completion does not go ahead monday as promised is that i am expecting my hotel fees to be paid by the company and the items i have nowhere to store will be dumped in the mri offices for them to deal with.  Also they can sort out my furniture delivery and pay the 600 fine for changing the date. This is getting ridiculous now.

Some of you probably think i shouldn't have booked to be there and trusted them but i asked over and over if i could now confirm the clean and the furniture and our flights and was told, yes go ahead, you will have completed by then.   How foolish was i

it is disgraceful all of this. Thank god I have put it all to the back of my mind for the last few years. What I actually didnt realsie is how long this has taken until I looked when I signed across my deposit JULY 2003 thats just short of 5 years does anyone remeber the first comletion date we were given Im sure it was May 2006?

Maybe we should setup a comittee and actaually see where we stand here legally and financially Im more than happy to get involved

So am i mike but the problem is for a lot of us it is too late for that now.  by the time we even try and find out where we stand never mind start putting it into practise, a lot of us will be at completion.  And finding a lawyer that will look out for our interests and not fob us off will prove very hard i reckon.  That in turn will delay it and they will be able to withdraw any compensation for them being late.  Its a catch 22 situation and whilst i would love to nail them to the wall and get everything we can possible get, i really feel that we have run out of time.  good luck to those on the next batch for completion though, i'm sure they can have a good go in time.  You're do to complete with us in the first lot arent you mike? So would you delay your completion now? anybody who is willing to stop and fight has my admiration because i have run out of energy fighting just to try and get any information whatsoever about this development, even from the people i am paying to do it all for me.

Having said all that about it being too late now, we might be sat here in another two months, it sure as hell wouldn't surprise me now.

well, the bunch of incompetent idiots are not giving us our appartment today either. no habitation licence registered!! banks won't sign.  thats all the information i can get at the moment. This developer is making completion dates without the registered documents. bloody marvelous

lawyers have been trying for days apparently to get this to show to the banks but they just don't have it.

Just passed the development twice today and I have to say it's looking really great, at least as good if not better than four other developments we looked at today as a possible replacement.

Almost brought a tear to my eye to think of all the emotional input we have invested in it, so hang on in there.

For the money you have paid you ain't gonna get anything remotely like it elsewhere.

I know it is so frustrating but there is nothing else you can do but sit it out.

Weather here today was lovely, about 20c plus, sun, no cloud, blue sky.....

If you want to pass the time and cheers yourselves up a bit, I can, if you want, tell you about the other developments, and how yours is better and worth hanging on to.

Let me know.

please do Will, it would make nice reading knowing exactly what was worth the bloody wait for this development, before we all forget completely.

Don't suppose anybody knows if there are any facilities for storing a few things out there in duquesa because i don't want to drag everything back to UK with me on the 30th and have to return with it a couple weeks later
