For those of you who are completing in January like us, who is doing your snagging? are you all going out to do it yourselves.  Nobody has given me clear instructions as to what is going to happen and i cannot get any information from my Lawyers. I presume it is being done before completion from what people are saying but i was always told that you will get 14days from completion to do the snagging. MRI said they do it all for us after picking up keys from the lawyers. They said they will do the lock change for us as everyone is advised to change locks in priority to everything else after taking possession of the property. I won't be going out there until after completion as i have work commitments here preventing me so i don't know when i will get to see it. Just wondered what plans you all had regarding this?

I cancelled in july but still look in on this site just out of interest.

as I have said earlier in the year do not allow yourselves to be

conned any further so when you are doing the snagging be sure

to check the overall size of the apartment not I repeat NOT the room

measurements I am sure they are not the size that they are supposed to be

you will have a very strong case for withholding monies for each metre that it is under the size

stated in the initial plans so if they are undersize  which I belive they are you

would be entitled to a reduction by way of componsation however you must do it

before final payment in made dont allow this opportunity slip now is the time

to do it dont listen to nonsence have it checked out yourself.

Hi Suzanne. Yes MRI will do the snagging, key change, clean etc. However, unless you have a prior agreement it has to be paid for and if you don't have that agreement it is worth looking at their Lifetime Membership as it covers all that stuff and more.

i'm already a member of the lifetime membership. although they;'ve had absolutely nothing to do for the year thats just ran out!!  anyway, i am not sure i can trust people to do it given the way everything has gone.  would you trust alan or get out there yourself?

It really depends on who your contact is. The way I would handle it is like this, if I have struck up some sort of rapport with my contact then I would trust her/him to carry out the work. If I wasn't confident then not only would I not let them near my place I would ask MRI to refund my membership fee. What is the point in paying for something you are neither using or will use in the future because you feel they are not competent enough to fulfill their obligations?

If you go to the main forum I'm sure you will get advice on snagging etc.
