Hi All
Just got back this weekend from a really enjoyable break - lots of photos to post if I can sort it - but I know a man who can.
I have seen so much with my own eyes now and can confirm several things I've just read on the forum this morning.
The road was still intact when we arrived but shut on Monday with fencing across and I would hope that you won't need to wait 12 months. The closed section is only adjacent to the west side of phase 1 with access up the hill via road D running between phase 1 & 2. I have a photo of the ripped up road!! (fealt good). I'd guess they will complete this section first which will enable the rest of Phase 1 to complete. Phase 1 looks really great and well maintained and the video entry camera is now fixed on the columns next to the entrance gates with name plates just waiting to be filled in!! There were some workman just doing one or two small jobs with bags of cement but we could not get into the area that was fenced off, which is a good thing. I concentrated several photos on block 7 (for Per - CD on it's way) -once through the external gates the road splits in two to go left under block 8 and right under block 7 but the entries only appear sized for car entry one way - so maybe it will be a one-way system on the car park (or lots of bumps!)
Phase 2 is looking ok from the front but obviously a mess from the Penoncillo road side with entrance gates just left loose against the columns etc.
Phase 4 (mine unfortunately) hasn't moved on much since last October and we were in the middle of a typical school run up to the infants/primary school with cars parked at the top end of road B.
Phase 3/Park area - took photos of this as it has always been difficult to envisage from here but it doesn't look like the LA are doing anything with Phase 3 for now as all the prepared/cleared area is outside of the "Arenal" area - need to get the photos posted.
Also went with the intention of finding a good tapas but ended up having a Chinese, Mexican, Argentinian (El Estribo on Sabinillas beach front was good), Italian -anything but Spanish - anyone found a good one locally?
It was really warm and we sat outside in the restaurants most nights - it really is a great location to be and so close to plenty of places to visit. Ronda is a bit of a journey on those winding roads but well worth a visit - it's best to come back down in daylight though!!
Alan - I hope you are still on-board now it's so close!
The security guys were fine and I was as courteous as usual - it was a waste of time "speaking" with Paco - I even tried to buy another property to see his reaction but I still got no where - no answer to when things were starting up again on phase 4, when was phase 1 completing, what was happening with the Aparthotel, where was the clubhouse - I gave in!
I stayed in the Marina de la Duquesa and had a top floor apartment with terrace overlooking the site - did not see any crane movement or action during the whole week!!
I will try and post some photos later but need to get back to work and my 250 emails!
