Snagging

For those die-hards who are staying in, have you had any information about the process and timescales for getting the snagging work carried out. I've heard a whisper that Arenal 2000 (or whatever they're called) expect snagging to be carried out after  contact signature - NO CHANCE! Any advice/updates would be appreciated.

You're right there. No chance! We've been offered a TV if we complete by the 16th. January. I'd need a much bigger inducement than that! We want to see the snagging done by completion. I know that here in England snagging is often carried out after completion but in this case, the way this company has dealt with us leaves us with no confidence in them. We are saying as much to our solicitor and looking for as water-tight assurances as we can get. If there is anyone else out there who is staying in, I'd love to hear from them. Margo

Hi Margo, just wanted to add  to the list of 'stayers'.

we bought in 2003 as investment / holiday home and are going to hang in there.  we're in block 14 and hopefully all issues re snagging / service connections will be sorted by the time they get around to us.

As has been said many times before, love the area, able to walk to the beach, nice looking development (last time we visited!) at 2003 prices - so unless something totally unexpected happens we're looking forward to many years of r&r in duquesa....  but we're fortunate that we're in no hurry aswell

My solicitor  has tried all this week to organise us a snagging appointment.  Surprise, surprise, the phone is not being answered.

Finally got an appointment for January 4th.  Hurrah.  We get to see it for the first time.

Who did you contact and on what phone number? I managed to get through to the Priene Sur customer service centre only to be told that I could do the snagging on the same day as, but just before, signing the contract. Then if I wasn't happy after doing the snagging, I shouldn't sign the contract - unbelievable!!!

So, what's the secret?
