Hi all,

So the 5th Nov arrives, thinking of revolution and the need to blow something up, can I ask has anybody actually been given a completion date for phase 1? know anybody who has? Has anybody been asked for the balance?

I am concerned that this will continue months into the new year

Frustrating isn't it Bob. I feel I have been down this road so many times and I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a mug!

I hope we get a date soon, but I also hope its in the new year.  I really don't want to be out snagging now before Christmas as I am rapidly running out of holiday.  I am sure this is the case with a lot of you out there.

Priensur, give us a bloody clue?

I spoke today with Maria from Priene Sur. She told me that your company send letters for all owners at phase 1. But can't answer when it was.... I check my box in home - letter is absent. What does it mean?

Does anybody know the address or fax number of Priensur? I wouldn't mind contacting them in writing myself. (I'm assuming a telephone call will be a waste of time, with my Spanish). (Edit due to spelling mistake)

When my translater call to PrieneSur for sent him my letter, they give him fax number +34957356130. But I am not sure that this fax number correct. Yesterday I call him and ask about possibility to get letter "from hend to hend" at his office. They answer me, that office in Manilva near "Royalo Mexikano". This is all what I know...

Aren't we paying our lawyers to obtain this information?

I received this from our lawyer today! Quote " I hereby inform you that yesterday I held a telephone conversation with the lawyer of the developer, who informed us that the Licence of First Occupancy of the Phase where your property is will be granted during the month of December. Once I get copy of it, I will contact you in order to arrange a date for completion. Unquote. Yee-ha! Margo

This is the first unprompted email I've received from my solicitor. She's quite a no-nonsense kind of woman and she did say a long time ago that she will only contact me when it is strictly necessary. So, I'm feeling a little bit positive. I might even start feeling cheerful if I'm not careful. Margo

Hate to be cynical but Ken & Lynn said the very same thing a month ago! I'm sure it's happening but I'll believe it when I see it.

i seem to be always agreeing with you alan but i think exactly the same.  and since valuer from my bank was still not allowed on site so that mortgage is in place and ready, then things for us can't go any further anyway, and i assume for anybody else taking mortgage out on their apts.  2008 before we get anywhere now.  nobody has seen the licence or had notification for completions. all is quiet once again.  I'm losing enthusiasm by the day for this holiday home

You know what Suzanne? I still reckon they want us to pull out so they can charge more for the apartments. When they are so unco-operative about allowing valuations to take place it almost confirms it for me. We have a Spanish niece and nephew, and we're thinking of taking one of them with us, and making an appoinment with the town hall in early 2008 if things aren't resolved soon. Flights are very cheap then, and it might be an idea for a few of us to do that. Putting on some organised pressure together might be an option......

That's a logical theory Margo but it still doesn't add up. They must have taken a huge loan to purchase the land and buy materials surely they must be looking for a return on their investment as soon as possible? Unless of course they have a generous benefactor propping them up!

It's all conjecture Alan but I honestly can't think of any other reason why they would drag their heels. Can you? It just doesn't make sound business sense to have delays and not try to keep the customer sweet........there has been no real communication from them...nothing to nurture our interest in the project. It has to be a business strategy. If I was running a business which was experiencing legitimate delays, I'd be sending out regular updates. I'd also be terrified of all my investors backing out. This lot clearly aren't.......... Margo

Valuer rang me today to inform us that he has been refused entry again and no valuations are being allowed on site until 20th november.  The developer said they are doing some snagging on appartments and don't want valuations done until then.  we have a provisional appointment for valuation on the 20th but that will probably get put back too!. Thats all they said

I still wonder if the delay is access to the car park, turning right in the west side of phase 1 and out the other side supermarket end

We drove past Duquesa today, not much activity visible and we suddenly felt so glad that we saw our deposit back in our bank in Gib yesterday, it just feels llke such a weight off our minds yes we`ve lost money but at least we now have a wee bit of knowledge of the Spanish system and we know enough to never buy off plan again. We wish all who are staying the course the best and hope it all works out for the best
