Hola all readers of this message board,

Has anyone recently visited our complex ie this year?  The reason I ask, is to know exactly how the complex is looking before inviting friends and relatives to stay in our apt.  Obviously if it still looks like a building site then I will leave things until the place is tidied up (if ever).  Things I would like to know about are -  state of swimming pools, the condition of service roads,  rubbish collection,  what if anything has happened to the golf course,  the problem of dog fouling and stray,  the cleaning of community areas such as stair wells etc.

Many thanks to you all who respond, and hope to meet you sometime this year.

Mike & June B

We bought in Las Dunas full of hope. We were deluded. Finished late to pitiably poor building standards we let to "a lovely Spanish family" who promptly trashed the apartment. and left it a complete wreck. The management of the complex is lax and the developers simply don't care. About anything, except their profit. My advice is get out as soon as you can, this development is going nowhere.

Hi Mike and June,

In reply to your questions, if your guests just want to escape from the winter, its well worth them coming out. If however they are fussy, they will still find litter mostly everywhere due to the lack of dustbins and the presence of Spanish builders. The road has had a first coat of tarmac which has reduced the dust, but this seems to have given the cleaners the impression that they no longer have to turn up.(no sign of cleaners in the 2 weeks we were there). Dog mess the same. One pool empty ,one pool repaired (although not excavated as promised.) Aparthotel 2, lots of remedial work going on. The grounds surrounding the yellow Oasis Property office are a mess. Golf course absolutely no change (wrong grass was used apparently!!!) The entrance to the site is a mess now because they have started to build the Commercial Center on the right and are just completing  the apartments on the left.

Having said all this I still feel sure that Mar y Casas will put things right because they need to sell the apartments on the hill opposite

We had a great holiday there for 2 weeeks in Feb. for the Carnival, and I am sure that things will continue to improve.

Hope to see you there soon.

I'm sorry but I don't think I would be being fussy to object to rubbish all over the site, dog poo everywhere, unwashed and unswept public areas, non functioning swimming pools, untidy gardens, mini golf that looks like a waste area and unfinished roads. Where are Mar y Casas and the management company in all this ? Alarmingly you say that Mar y Casas are carrying out remedial work on some of the Dunas complex already which supports my feeling that the whole lot was jerry built in the first place.
Absolutely nothing has improved on this site over the last two years or so. It's a mess.

Hola from Mike & June B

Many thanks for your comments on the state of our complex.  It all sounds very depressing and it appears that we are paying good money up front for very little in return.  Has anyone contacted Jose at Gesisur and complained.  If not then he assumes everything is a OK, as I am sure no-one in that office ever visits our site to check the situation.   What is even more worrying is that El Presidente and his cohorts are obviously not doing their jobs.  At the AGM in August I believe that we gave Gesisur one more year to get things sorted and if we are not satisfied they get their marching orders.  I don't mind e-mailing Jose to give him the facts but I will not be giving him first hand info. so perhaps those that have visited already and those about to go, tell him a few home truths about the condition of Las Dunas.  Trouble with us Brits iks that we don't complain enough or loud enough.  Let me know if you have or be going to e-mail Jose and then I shall add my threepennyworth as well.

Cheers for now.  Mike B
