What have you lucky people who have completed done about snagging ? Did you do it yourselves or did you use a snagging specialist to do it for you ? Is there a standard form that the developers are using ?
We tried to complete on the 10th of Jan and again on the 20th Feb, but both times there were last minute hitches between the bank and the developer and they are supposed to be part of the same company as we are going for the developers mortgage. Our lawyer now has power of attorney to sign for us hopefully next Wednesday, as we are sick of wasted journeys to Spain.
If snagging proves as difficult as buying, my nervous breakdown could be imminent !!!

We did our own snagging, internally the apartment was fine, little things you may have to look out for are, scratched wardrobe doors and internal doors, marks to tiling and floor tiling, internal doors sticking etc. Externally the building seemed OK to us we did not notice anything that gave us cause for alarm. Juan is the site manager for Gerens, he is a pleasant man and keen to help, a little Spanish will go a long way, However Juan does speak a little English, he gave me his mobile number/email address so you can contact him if needed and I understand from Suzanne's post that his office is based in block 7 so he may well be your new neighbour for a while.
I think it is just a case of taking the plunge and enjoying the dip!

it was all pretty much the same for us too. We also did our own although not much of it has been done. The only problem might be that the snagging sheet they had as standard needed to be filled in in clear spanish, so it is much easier if somebody can make things clear to juan as his english is very limited. I had a representative with me and i speak some spanish. That way there can be no misunderstandings of what is being agreed on either side. You have to make an appointment to do the snag list also but they are very flexible to suiting it around best times for you. Took us about an hour

Can anyone of our new neighbours give us the phone number and e-mail address for the site office so that we can arrange the snagging ? Our solicitor has now completed the purchase of our apartment at the 3rd attempt, but we are unable to get down in time to do the snagging ourselves, so we are using a local company to do it and I need to supply them the contact details for the site office. It's all very exciting !!!!!!
Many thanks,
Jon

Jon, Your man is Juan Guerrero Tel No: 648829419 Email address: jaguerrero@gerens.com He is the Gerens 'Tecnico De Post-Venta'. He is a nice man and more than happy to help. I believe his office is situated in block 7, I think Suzanne may confirm that. Anyway well done!
Pdrich1, you are right Paco and his female accomplice are nolonger interested in those that have completed, however that's fine, it just means that you don't have to put up with their sour faces anymore. I can honestly say that I have never met two young people so miserable in their place of work, I wonder how they ever sold any apartments??

i agree, i think jodie marsh, i mean maria or whatever her name is in the office never wanted to be there in the first place. she looks at you as if you are stupid. I hope they are better with clients interested in purchasing or there will be a lot of empty unsold apartments

Your solicitor should arrange the pre-completion inspection for you, it may only be a 15-20 min visit, but it will give you the opportunity to view and complete with the knowledge that everything is relatively OK.
Don’t be discouraged by Paco and Maria in the sales office, they may try to give you the run around, they will use the line ‘No speak English’ just call Prienesur direct whilst in the sales office if they try that old chesnut, that usually gets Paco moving albeit like a surly teenager. Once you complete you will then enter into the snagging process with Gerens. To date on that score I have no complaints…

Hi
I am pleased to see that the property seems to be moving. We were buying on Phase 1 but after waiting 4 years it was enough, we ended up buying a larger apartment near Selwo.
Has anyone actually moved in to the apartments yet?
