I bought off plan on Don Juan in March 2005 with the intention of selling on after 12 months as advised by Andalucian Dream Homes. They never marketed the property when I asked them to, they just told me to hang on for a better price. They finally agreed to market it in March 2007, but the tax laws changed so they stopped viewing, that is if they ever started it. They told me it would sell no problem, but it is my opinion they never inteded to re-sell it due to the commissions involved. I now look set to lose my deposit. Has anyone else had the same problem, and what if anything can be done about it. If you are thinking of buying in Spain, don't use ANDALUCIAN DREAM HOMES, they are liars and conmen.

Hi Supra492, I bought mine of ADH, originally with the intention of reselling for a profit and asked ADH to re-market it which they did. Initially in 2004 there were no buyers as the place was still very much a building site but they did manage to find a couple of buyers, this was around 2005 but the level of profit after all expenses was not as much as I liked so decided against selling and decided to keep it. However my cousin had also bought in DJ with the intention of selling prior to completion he used another well known large agent who promptly found a customer in 2006. My cousin accepted their offer and he proceeded to sell the place however when he came to Spain to sign the paperwork and finalise the deal he found out that the buyer was actually the wife of the agent and that they later resold (almost immediately) for some 30k euros more then the selling price the agent got for my cousin (profit which should have gone to my cousin)! It is not just ADH who are bad I think most of them are the same! In your situation the only thing you can do is try using alternative agents or try marketing the place yourself or maybe complete the purchase and then try and sell it. By the way what is the change is tax law in 2007 that affected the incentive for ADH to market your apartment?

I bought from ADH too and although I intend to keep my apartment I can still remember Scott telling me it was a gated Comunity with tropical style plants and I had a car parking space. If anybody can get their car in bay 13 block 9 then they will have to show me how you do it , even if you could get it in you cant open the doors.  ADH tell you whatever you want to hear so you will sign on the dotted line.

Estate Agents are now paying the price, along with the useless Solicitors and Dodgy Developers. They think they are being very smart in extracting large sums of money out if us and doing very little in return. The market has slowed and the bad reports have become globaly  well known so, nobody is buying anymore - They have only got themselves to blame!
