Hi Viv

Below is the content of a post from February 08 by “JHMurcia” which I think may have the information you are looking for.

Regards

Phil

We returned yesterday evening from our visit to Murcia- thoroughly enjoyed it. Met up with Alan and Lyn- thanks for the coffee and I hope we can meet up again before too long.

Dont think we picked up too much more information than others who have been able to visit recently but I hope people will find these few lines useful.

We were very impressed with the show apartments, everything is set out very well and  Jardines 12 doesnt appear too big or too cramped, so hopefully this will be reflected throughout the Jardines. They hope to have 12 show apartments there before too long. The pool area is bigger than expected and the landscaping looks very good, plenty of mature shrubs.

The front terrace of three bed apartments looks bigger in real life than on some of the photo's availabe and with a canopy on the pergola and stairs either side will be quite private. The show apartments have a 3 seater settee and a table and chairs  but a couple of two seaters and maybe a drop leaf table could be possible.  The kitchen is well set out and has space for a dishwasher because the washing machine sits in a corner beneath the 2nd bedroom window (out in the back terrace and concealed behind a low wall). We measured the fridge freezer here and it was a 6ft freezer. The cupboards are a light wood effect- looks fine with the  chrome hob and extractor. Bedrooms are fine- the master is a reasonable size and the two others are compact but adequate and all have the fitted wardrobes. We were disappointed that there are no drawers in the wardrobes as we had been led to believe there would be, but there wont. TV points and sockets in bedroom 1 and 2 (sorry we didnt check bedroom 3) Bedroom 3 wasnt as tiny as I expected. Bathroom is good, tiles are quite nice but, as has already been reported, no shower screen, mirror or shelving other than the base cupboard below the sink will be provided. Our guide couldnt help us with how the colour of the bathroom cupboard is selected and I told her we thought they could be either, wood, white or green although the one we were looking at was red at which point she said 'But they have red too!' so not too much help there. The recess for patio doors on the front living room and rear bedroom are approx 7ft high by 7ft  wide (we had to measure these real quick as the rest of the guide party was waiting for us, but Polaris had hung the curtain from at least a foot above the patio window recess's rather than along the top of the recess-) They have a three bed ground floor apartment altered to show it as a two bed by taking away the interior wall of the 3rd bedroom- it looked good and clearly provided better living and dining space, but this is only an option for El Mirador.

The two bed balcony terrace will manage a small table and chairs and has a full length glazed window is next to the front door- certainly allows a lot of light into the room. There is room for a compact table and four chairs and the second apartment we were shown had a rectangle table and four chairs which took up less space then the glass round one in first apartment ( which also had large whicker chairs around it reducing space even more) plus it could partially be in the aclove under the stairs when not in use. However, this alcove is quite deep and could be boxed in providing useful lockable storage. The lounge space is compact but manageable- the window recess is 82 inches wide and 41 deep. So a slimline 3 seater is possible provided you dont put a radiiator on the wall right next to it (we found a decent setteee in Polaris Homestyle that was 79 inches long). However you could put a three or a two seater or two chairs along the breakfast bar- so there are options despite the size. The distance between the window and the breakfast bar is 10ft 4 inches. The kitchen is similar to the 3 bed, white wall tiles and light wooden units, except that there will be plumbing and space for a washing machine under the breakfast bar and a dishwasher under the sink. I asked about the worktops because some pictures show wood and some grey- I'm afraid our guide thought the grey was merely a paint effect to show what we could do to vary the colour scheme in the apartments. I know thats not what other people have been told- so again not much help there. The solarium is terrific, a great size with loads of potential, a real outdoor living space- our guide said people had been asking about having seating built along one or other of the walls that can also be used for storage, but that would be up to individual owners. The canopy looks excellent up here and curtaining will create some privacy.

There is no heating or lighting provided and although aircon is pre-installation all units need to be provided by us.

We were happy to see the security provided- elelectric gates for each Jardines- so you could leave a vehicle there eventually or a golf buggy maybe.

The BBQ area isnt likely to happen now in each Jardines concerns have been raised about safety and policing of who uses these areas so small children's play areas are more likely eventually.

Our guide told us Polaris expect to start releases in 4 or 5 months and there are only approx 80 Jardines de Alhama left. She hadnt heard anything new about Los Isla, she thought dates where still as advertised but that Naranjos penthouses were coming on well.

One point if anyone else is going over -the show houses are shut on a Monday which we didnt know so we had to make an appointment and return on Tuesday. You do have to go with a guide but I believe if you turn up on a day other than Monday you may be able to join a group already going over. The guide showed us all the locations for the properties already released and identified where the Medical centre is expected to be and the school and also a fire station. Doing this showed us just how huge this resort is going to be.

You must take any measurements I have given as approximate as there maybe slight fluctuations but I thought they would serve as an indication- and we felt under a bit of pressure as the rest of our party had been around once before and merely wanted to check out the 3 to 2 bed groundfloor apartment pending their decision. Unfortunately although our guide was very pleasant she wasnt the most knowledgeable or maybe just less experienced. Anyway I hope people will find useful bits in all this. We have some pics which we will post later today.

Hi again Viv

Some more info that may be of help taken from a post by “ailmnoth” in March 08

Visited Condado today on a very cold and blustery day, sunny skies but not pleasant. I'll try and answer most questions that were asked on the forum as well as email you all - in no particular order...

The openings for the appliances are 610mm wide and for the fridge-freezer 1860mm high. As reported earlier the 3 bed has a dishwasher in the kitchen and washing machine the back terrace. The 2 bed has all appliances in the kitchen, with washing machine under the breakfast bar.

The measurement of the breakfast bar to the door frame on the 2 bed is 82"

The outside terracotta lights are included - basically Big Brother Polaris do not want different style of outside lights - cost saving though!.

Sports facilities and Foro will be later in the autumn before being ready
The mail collection points are planned to be at the Foro

BBQ's are allowed on the solariums, along with softubs!!

The golf should be playable by beginning of 2009! Oasis should be complete by Xmas 2010
On the 3 bed the number of lights are as follows: 2 standard terracotta lights at the front, 2 lights in the lounge, 3 lights at the kitchen, 1 light in the small bedroom, 2 lights in the bathroom and 2 lights in each of the other bedrooms and finally 1 standard terracotta light on the back terrace. There is an outside tap on the 3 bed front terrace - doesn't apprear to be an electric socket though. Both a socket and water tap on the back terrace to accomodate the washing machine

On the 2 bed the number of lights are as follows: 2 standard terracotta lights at the front, 2 lights in the lounge, 3 lights at the kitchen, 2 lights in the bathroom and 2 lights in each of the bedrooms, 1 standard terracotta light on the solarium stairs and finally 1 standard terracotta light on the solarium. There is an outside tap and one electric socket on the solarium.

Hi,
When we booked our furniture package the company sent us a PDF file with a layout of the 2 bed apartment and dimensions. It's not hugely detailed but gives an idea of overall mesurements.
I'm not sure if I could upload a PDF to this site and it would probably get removed as the company name is splashed over every page but if anyone wants a copy send me a PM and I will email it on to you.
In answer to happy buyers original question about a small 3 seater in the window we have been given to understand that this won't be a problem as it was what we originally wanted to do.
We're going out in September with a big tape measure and note pad so we can be sure and finalise our furniture requirements.

  Hi folks

Was out to the resort a couple of weeks back and forgot to post some sizes I took of the 3 bed apartment when there (sorry did not have enough time to get the 2 bed sizes).I took these with a laser measure so sizes should be spot on.

Hope this helps some of you

Kev

You've shown the square meterage of the rooms, are you aware in Spain that the total square meterage of buildings include the wall thicknesses, if you're calculating the overall size.

Hi everyone,

Trying to do some furniture planning for our 2 bed apartment in Jardines 4.

I appreciate people have posted odd bits of information on the apartment sizes but I was wondering if anyone has been able to get their hands on a scale drawing of the apartments or even some detailed internal dimensions?  Polaris Customer Service referred me to the plan in our contract but I'm reluctant to scale dimensions off that as I'm not sure if it compares accurately with the finished article.

Any info welcomed.  Thanks.

Tim

I have a converted plan drawing which shows all the sizes, I used Polaris's PDF drg that they sent me and scaled it up and added my own dimensions. These seemed to be quite accurate when I checked out a few last time I was over.  It will give you a good idea anyway. Don't take all dimensions for granted though until you measure them first.

Can you send me your email address by private message and I will forward.

Perhaps my scan of the ground floor 3 bedroom apartment, which I just uploaded to pictures (13May2008) proves of any further help.

Cheers

Thanks for those Phil,

They agree with a drg I scaled the sizes on, give or take 50mm. Nice to see they've built it to the right size. Read somewhere previous that Spanish builders could build a property up to 10% less in size and there's not much you could do.

Thanks Phil, we took some measurements in February but had to dodge everyone else who was visiting so we didnt get everything we wanted. We still would love to get a small 2 seat settee between the door and the breakfast bar but we think it will look cramped- however have to accept that cupboards/washing machine under the breakfast bar/worktop are better than the original narrow breakfast bar

Hi  JHM

I thing distance from Breakfast bar to front door is about 210cm, we wanted to have a two seater their but we have decided it was going to be to cramped but surprisingly you can get two smallish comfortable chairs in which look good. They had this in one of the show apartments.

When we went they had a couple of  chairs between the door and breakfast bar but they were sort of dining or desk chairs rather than comfy arm chairs- have they put arm chairs in that position? We wonder if an arm chair by the doorway and one under the breakfast bar wouldn't look to cramped. Unfortunately memory seems to make that lounge area positively tiny and despite everyone and his wife telling me that we will live more outside, I know my husband enjoys watching the footy to a level usually enjoyed by a tv pundit- so inside is important to us (I, meanwhile will be up on the solarium in the soft tub- hopefully) We also have three sons, who insist they will visit constantly when we are in Spain so enough seating is necessary.

Our recollection was that the lounge area was "compact" and that we would need to be careful with furniture to avoid it looking too cramped.  One idea we had was to have a three seater sofa under the window and some sort of leather chair between the door and breakfast bar - one of the modern "tub" type chairs or a leather swivel chair would probably fit quite well.  Then we thought of having another chair of some sort in the main bedroom so that if you have visitors, or need extra seating, you could carry the chair through from the bedroom.  Not ideal but the only way we could think of to avoid over-crowding the lounge area.

I seem to remember that the lounge and dining area were actually bigger than they look on the photos but what does stick in my mind is the size of the huge solarium roof terrace which is hopefully where we will be spending most of our time!

Hi

We have seen a couple of chairs that would do the job we think, one is a proper comfy seat and back but arms are wood about 2 inches wide and quite modern looking, it can be covered in a choice of fabrics. The other is a leather chair with again comfy seat and back and the arms are leather also but only about 3 inches wide. Not decided which we are going for but the advantage of thesis you save on width by them having narrow arms.

We are going to have a nest of tables to one side instead of a coffee table like all the show apartments have, this will we hope keep an open aperance.

Phil

Hi Everyone, I know I'm back tracking a bit now, but a woman needs to know these things. I can see from PGMs re JH Murcia post below that the patio and bedroom windows are approx 7'square and that the curtain track is about a foot above that, but does anyone know the actual ceiling height? And the other windows dimensions if poss. If no one knows can I ask a favor of those going out soon to get the measurements please. Much appreciated and very best wishes to all those going out soon to complete. I'm sure you'll all be thrilled and i can't wait for you to come back and let us in on the excitement. June (Martyn sends best wishes too.) xx
