I do hope you don't think I am abusing you (or anyone else) Norman. I wish you all the best. I have some regrets in terms of having money tied up with little hope of selling and recouping it but am fortunate enough to be able to enjoy my holiday home as just that. For this I am very grateful. I have no desire to belittle anyone else's misfortunes at all but want to be able to enjoy the good things in life I can when in Spain or anywhere.
Best wishes,
Caroline

Dear Caroline,
I am no angel, believe me, but I delight in your success.
the morons refuse to believe it, but I really do.
however I cannot understand others delight and abuse of me as a victim of the Spanish acknowledged real estate corruption.
it is more than bad, it is evil.
perhaps they will all be called to account some day????
or is this gullible optimist too hopeful??????
Regards
Norman

Good morning everyone
I would like to say how impressed I was when I read Vicci's post. She is currently going through a very difficult time, however she still has the grace to show consideration to other people's feelings, she doesn't come across as being bitter though goodness knows she has every right to feel that way at the moment, and she has also emphasised the fact that this is a "Good news" thread, which is why she didn't feel the need to air her problems here.
Vicci, we are 100% behind you. I wish that I lived closer (we live inland in the Murcia region) so could help you in person. Do you think publicity would help your cause? An interview in one of the local papers or in the UK press? If so, I would be more than happy to write something and see where I can get it published for you.
Back to good news in Spain......
It's another beautiful day here (though I see that London has been enjoying good weather too, EVEN during Wimbledon!) and we are meeting a group of friends for coffee, which we can afford to do at Spanish prices!!!
Sue

Morning Sue, and all looking in on Good news in Spain. After a hectic day of verbal tennis on the thread yesterday, without a winner, is it possible to get back on track and back to the subject...Good news in Spain!

Good for you Vicci, a positive start today, lets hope others use common sense and keep it that way, and lets hope you get some good news soon because that really would be Good News In Spain.

Beunos dias all though some don't appear to be awake yet
Vicci .... Sue could be very instrumental in getting your story published, she has contacts as she writes in papers & mags if I understand correctly.
Did someone mention starting a facebook page earlier, maybe that was about building licences on on a justice thread, memory failing. So start a FB wall just for this.
If we put our collective heads together more will be aware of your situation.
Are you, for instance, on other forums where this is known? It doesn't have to be in your area. As this happened to you it can happen to others.

morning all
I do find it rather inevitable that in the current climate, a 'good news in Spain' thread will end up this way. Much like a 'healthy people only' thread, or a 'wealthy people only' thread, it excludes the most needy in society (or this case the forum) because they don't have any good news about Spain. The thread, much like a 'healthy or wealthy thread, is bound to end up as an ''I'm alright Jack'' thread which looks pretty ugly to all but the most selfish on the forum.
I don't know the answer?, of course we want to hear the good news from people, but while so many people are going through hell in Spain through dreadful human rights and justice issues, then a 'good news only' thread will look insensative at best and downright insulting at worst to many of those cheated, much like a 'white's only' thread in South Africa!!!. When the issues that have hurt so many good people trying to buy in Spain are addressed, and put in to action for the thousands cheated, then I feel a 'good news' thread on the forum will be more acceptable.
I posted my good news in England over the weekend, because although I'm involved in the Spanish property industry, my good news at the moment is only from the UK. I think anyone involved in Spain should be able to post good and bad news on any thread?. However good or bad that may be, I'ts the reality, and anything less is not reflecting the truth.

Here we go again..another thread hijacked by the same boring crowd of one-trick ponies.
To compare people that are happy with their lot in Spain to apartheid is both stupid and insulting..but then I've come to expect nothing less...
why don't we try this..if you don't have any good news don't post on this thread...go off onto one of the multitude of "bad news" threads or one of the many other "normal" threads that have already been hijacked and post there and leave this to the people who overall have a positive experience of Spain that they would like to share...as per the Thread title.
...shouldn't be a difficult concept..

Did you read this through before you posted it?
The good news you posted about your weekend was well received
and welcomed
and many people, myself included, offered their congratulations
and birthday wishes.
news about people getting their deposits back should surely be included
do you suggest we should all stop posting until every issue is resolved?
if it makes you feel any better i have a headache from drinking too much red wine last night.

Have you lot actually READ what you post? It's not even NEWS. For example, Suemac wrote: and we are meeting a group of friends for coffee, which we can afford to do at Spanish prices!!! If that's the calibre of your good news then your lives sound very boring! I'm looking for REALLY good news in Spain, so far I don't see any. I'll keep living in hope though.

yes, I'm glad my posts ware welcomed. I'm not looking for a fight with anyone, I just want to explain how many of us feel. As I said, it's great to hear the good news, but not at the exclusion of the bad news also. They are both sides of the same coin, and need to be heard. If bad news outways good, then surely that's a reflection of the reality for those who wish to post on the forum?
Let's keep the good stories coming by all means, that's the reality for some, but if some opinions are negative well that's the reality for some also. As caring people, I hope that along with celebrating the good, we can do what we can to improve the lot for those wronged?.

Another idea, entitle the thread" THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT LIVING IN SPAIN" and put it on the Living in Spain forum NOT the general chit chat forum. As neither Goodstich, Norman or I live in Spain then we cannot justifiably contribute to it.

They could start a thread about living on mars and you would still put your
oar in.
as you are entitled to do .
just stay to the theme of the thread.
i note you now see yourselves as a threesome.
something you would like to share with us.
NO photos please

I think that has just alienated you from others as Sue didn't deserve such a nast y comment. Some are TRYING to lighten up whilst appreciating what some, INCLUDING SUE, have been through. Sue herself has lost many thousands too.

Tish, great idea, maybe Justin should clear all threads with you, Norman and goodstich to make sure they are acceptable to you 3 before allowing them to be started....

Suemac appears to live a quiet and peaceful live in Jumilla
She has had her disappointments in Spain but only ever posts in a cheerful, helpful manner
She obviously takes great pleasure in her way of life and innocently reports that on a "Good News'' thread
And result made to look like she's some kind of simpleton
Bad form
Sue keep it up, to have found your kind of happiness is GOOD NEWS indeed
