I want a UK where left-wing barstool propagandists and absent remain pirates cannot destroy our hard-working country.

Mickeyfinn,
A solution that can be classed as mutually beneficial has not been reached as yet, hence the ongoing negotiations, and to suggest otherwise is ludicrous. The EU “deal” in its current form is not deemed to be beneficial to the UK for all the reasons identified to date and the problems with the backstop will have to be addressed at some point before it could ever be classed as a mutual solution for the UK.
Jarvi’s recent posting identifies many uncomfortable truths that should not be ignored in this sorry saga of events and to constantly dismiss appears as a complete denial.

Unlike myself, some people want a UK where illegal immigrants and TV soap liberals can sabotage our integrity.

There is no replacement for the backstop which will satisfy everyone's red lines or even become mutually beneficial.. The government's current informal proposal of an all-Ireland agri-food zone ignores the issue of the rest of the goods trade and also the small matter of customs. When the UK signs its new trade deals with Swaziland et al; the EU will need to ensure that goods from these third countries are not arriving in Northern Ireland tariff-free and then slipping, untaxed and unregulated, into the Republic and the rest of the EU. That is a real difficulty that requires a solution.
How can that be done? You believe the EU is being intransigent. Yet you fail to offer any workable solutions that might solve the real and glaring problem the EU and especially Ireland itself has with Northern Ireland post-Brexit.
The only realistic solution in the time-frame is the one suggested by the EU right from the start: a Northern Ireland-only backstop. It's the only deal Ireland will agree to. It's the only deal ready to sign off. And it's the only deal that comes anywhere close to solving this predicament. Sadly the Tories and the Unionists will never accept it.
Why? It produces an economically united Ireland, which, the DUP fears the most since it would eventually precipitate a psychologically politically united one as well. That is also why solutions to Brexit are a pipe dream. It ain't going to happen. The only realistic solution is either another referendum or an election.

I will work for the UK where overpaid EU CEOs cannot corrupt our markets. The EU is conspiring with unstable nuclear regimes, cronies and extremists to create an Irish backstop.

In the interests of clarity:
This site, Unity News Network, is run by Ukip’s Scottish youth leader, Carl Pearson, and the activist David Clews. It is one of three suddenly popular outlets pushing the party’s message to a receptive new audience: the young, angry and the digitally savvy.
While Ukip’s lurch to the right has prompted an exodus of party stalwarts, it has more than made up for this with thousands of new members drawn in by the anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson far-right YouTubers, and Ukip’s newfound dominance of the rightwing web thanks to the likes of Pearson and Clews.
Along with Kipper Central and Politicalite.com, Unity News is heavily supportive of the hardline agenda of Gerard Batten, Ukip’s leader for the past year, who in that time has transformed the party into what analysts say is an openly far-right force.

Micky in the interests of clarity if everyone on here reports fact, figures and certain web pages, from many sources like the media and such like, and then you come up with almost the negative and opposite of pretty much what is said....Where do you get all your facts and figures from then?
I have just read that post from ferrotty and the part about Ted Heath getting a back hander I have heard before, so that small part alone is truth, maybe the rest is also.

Truth is subjective it depends on someones personal perspectives. In the absence of evidence one mans truth is anothers lie. The fact is until 2016 British people and their parliament were content to remain members of the EU. You can speculate on the causes of the leave vote but it doesnt make the decision anymore logical or right for the country.

"The fact is until 2016 British people and their parliament were content to remain members of the EU."

A cross party majority in parliament passed the accession treaty in 1972
A yes/ no referendum on contiuing membership of the EU was held in 1975. Remain won with 67.2% of the vote.
In 1983 the Labour Party fought a general election with their principal committment to withdraw from the EU. They were heavily defeated..

Indeed and equally there are just as many who wish to remain. So the logic is another vote given the dire concequences of leaving without a deal were not explained fully to the public.. Britain is a representative parliamentary democracy. Referendum's are not a normal way of governing Britain. The current mess tends to support that view.

Leave majority 1,269,501 votes from an electorate of almost 38 million. Hardly overwhelming.

So Micky you know better than 1,269,501 UK citizens, even though you are a deserter.

No I have an opinion to which I'm entitled and so does everyone else. I respect the contrary view and expect mine to be treated equally. Europe is a pluralist democracy As for being labelled as a "deserter", you cannot be serious?

Maybe you can explain to us what benefits we gain from being in the EU.

The country's that make up the so called European Union .. are lead to believe that they will still live in a Democratic country when they join ...they can still have Democratic elections in their country and vote whom they like in to govern the country...but this is just a political game that politicians play ... because what ever these countries that form the EU vote for can be over ruled by the unelected Dictatorship that governs the EU.
