Please can someone direct us from Roda Golf to the Dos Mares (not sure if spelt correctly) shopping centre in San Javier. Also, would we be able to purchase a couple of push bikes from there ?

Hi
Just a point if you go to Dos Mares.
Coming back onto the motorway BEWARE!! There have been a lot of accidents there. We had a particularly nasty one - our fault. The slip road on to the motorway ends in a give way and not a run on. We were lucky no one was hurt but our car was a write off. (Hire company not happy). Please give extra caution.

Go onto the motorway and take junction 777, then right, its straight ahead of you. Even I found it and keep getting lost everywhere! You can get bikes there I bought a ´Mary Poppins´ one ie with basket on the front for 160 euros from Eroski. Good luck.

People, you don't have to go on the Motorway at all if you would rather avoid it. You can go through San Javier and discover new shops that are opening up.
If you go to the roundabout with the arches and Roblemar restaurant (where you come off the AP7 for Los Alcazares) you'll see a small road, I don't think it has any signs to where it goes but this is the N332 which will take you into San Javier. It's the road off the roundabout immediately before the slip road to join AP7 going towards San Javier. Just follow this road straight all the way and Dos Mares will appear on your right. There is a bend/roundabout in the road in San Javier but just keep straightish and follow signs for N332.
Alternatively, if you go to Google Maps type this in ; Carretera San Pedro Del Pinatar S/N, 30730 San Javier, Spain. This should be Dos Mares shopping centre, if it's not you'll see it from there. Then type in Roda Golf, Los Alcazares and it will show you a route leaving Roda by turning right out of the back gate. It takes 9 mins, 5.8km.
Hope this helps,
Jayne

Hi Les.
We found the easiest and quickest way is:-
Turn right out of Roda, past Senoria De Roda - Turn right at traffic lights.
Carry on along road about 1.5 mile.
At Junction turn left, follow sign for San Javier.
At island turn right.
Carry on and you will see sign for Eroski and Dos Mares.
Along this road you will alsosee a shop called Decathalon on the left - it is a sports shop - i bought a bike on offer for 89 euro, and bought a basket to go on it for about 12 euro.
Another good place for bikes is Carrefour at Cartegena - there is also a Decathalon there too - plus a really good chinese buffet restaurant.
Hope this helps. Jayne This message was last edited by jayneltimmins on 7/22/2008.

Thank you all for your help, going over tomorrow, so will take a look, I guess if we get some bikes, my wife can ride hers back and fill up her basket with some provisions (preferrably cold beers) on the way home !

You can hire bikes in the precinct in Los Alcazares, its down on the left hand side. When we were there he took cash only deposits. The bikes are good and for those that have little ones there are bikes with fixed baby seats.
