Can anyone bring me up to speed on using a laptop on holiday. Here I am packing and putting the laptop with the luggage and my husbands asking 'how do we use that in the apartment/hotel?' Am I right that you can buy internet cards somewhere? We dont want to pay hotel internet link up rates.
Hadnt given the process any thought but was quite blase thinking we could link up somehow!

Hi Jan and Mike - Not sure if its what you're after, but you can buy pay as you go internet cards, only site I can think of at the moment is, fairinternet.co.uk - I can't remember how these work, but you would need to be in the vicinity of wireless internet, I would think. Have a look at the site, you may be able to make sense from it. - Have a great trip

Hi Jan
Back from sunny Spain to dull/overcast Bishop Auckland in Co. Durham. Wish we were back there already.
The internat cards on La Torre where you're staying are called Areanet cards and you can get these in different values, 4€ 7€ and 12€. The 12€ card will last you 300mins which we didn't think was too bad. (Think Dawn must have spent a fortune on them keeping up with things).
You will need an ethernet (network) cable to connect your laptop to the socket in the apartment though. Or if you don't have one you can still get access in the club house on La Torre where you can get a WiFi signal. When you click onto the internet you will probably be asked to go to an unauthorized site, when you go there they will then asked for the codes on the Areanet card.
One thing to watch out for is that when you have finished with the internet go back in your history for that day click back on the opening screen for Areanet and hit the close button or your card will remain open and use up all your credit.
Enjoy your holiday, you will see a massive change in Condado since the last time you went.
Mike

Thanks for the info, I was just heading for a local newsagents for a card thingy!
Mike and Dawn: glad you home safe, I know you had a good time so can understand that you'd rather be back there already..
After feeling a bit anxious about this whole 'adventure' for the last few months I'm really excited about our trip and very keen to see Condado again

hi Jan and Mike
hope you have a great trip and I'm sure you'll love the visit to condado, there a lots of places to use the internet, I stayed at la Torre and there was access in the apartment and also in the supermarket you could buy internet cards to use. I didn't take our lap top, just went into internet cafes, once someone showed me how to use it, it was very easy and cheap. 1Euro for 30mins in some places.

Thanks Karen, I'm totally reassured and my husband now convinced I will spend the same amount of time on the forum on holiday as I do at home ( though I'm actually surfing for furniture etc really).
Hope to get loads of photo's and will ask a few questions about the old foro/ reduced in size if I get the chance.
