Afternoon
The pictures of the Penthouse show appartment have aircon units installed in Lounge/Bedrooms but strangely there appears to be NO outside condenser on the terrace - where is this located for the aircon to run - anyone have any ideas ??
I saw that Polarair are doing a 3 unit deal for condado at around 2.5K Euros, which looks intresting but I dont want a sub zero appartment if I have to sit on the balcony with hot air belching out over me from the condensor unit.
Could they be up on the building roof or out in the entrance corridors maybe ??
Any Penthouse owners made plans for aircon yet - grateful for any advice !
Rgds

Polarair do 3 units (with separate condensers) for 1599 euros. 2 years warranty on condenser and 3 yrs on the units. That's fully installed and includes IVA. Their are pros and cons to having 3 units. They take up a bit more space but, when running individually, are quieter than a larger one running and since normally only the lounge one will be running when you are on the roof terrace then this makes sense. Also if the outside unit breaks down then the whole system isn't affected ie you still have 2 units running capable of keeping the whole apartment cool. Again, if one of the outside units packs in it will be cheaper to replace than a larger unit powering 2 or more centrally. Hope this is of help. Polarair did my units. On time, carefully and without any issues.

I think that the Penthouse aircon units are up on the communal roof. We initially considered a top floor penthouse thinking they had some private roof space but then were advised the roof was communal 'for washing and bbq's for everyone and so on' according to our guide who obviously thought that the idea of hanging out our washing and then having a bbq with the whole block would tempt us. However someone who has actually ought one will know more.

Our understanding is also that aircon condensers go on roof as the cupboard on the patio is plumbed for washing machine. Are the units in the show penthouse air con or wall heaters as they seem too low down for aircon, but cannot make out what is on the walls higher up (maybe hidden in the photos). If washing machine not outside then not sure if you can fit both dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen. Visiting in September when hope to resolve all these issues plus what lighting, if any, is provided outside on patio, by front door etc.
Still trying to decide what aircon system is best - probably the 3 separate units for reasons stated - but beginning to think wall heaters will be needed as well. Mirador will have solar panels providing power I believe but not sure if this may be an option at a later date.

We've had radiators fitted by Polaris although I'm sure you can get them for less elsewhere. Found it colder than expected in Feb and the warm aircon we had in an apartment wasnt sufficient, had to bring in oil filled rads as well. - but think thats not a whole winter experience as you might suffer in the UK, So depending on when you plan to use the apartments down the years warm aircon may be enough.

We have just had our aircon fitted by Gary at Polarair in our 2 bed 1st floor Jardines apartment.
We originally asked for a multisplit system ( 3 indoor fed by one outdoor condenser) as we thought it would look better on the roof terrace.
Gary advised us against this and has fitted a standard system for the lounge and a 2 way split for the bedrooms.
If you want any advice on aircon contact Gary by email at info@polaraircostablanca.com I am sure he will be happy to help.He is fitting loads of systems at Condado.

Hi AJW
I was just on Polarair's website and the price's they are quoting are
Panasonic 4 X 2 multi split. 4 interior units X 2 exterior units
Ideal for your three bed-roomed apartment
3150.00 euros including installation and i.v.a.
What did you get for 1599, and where did u place your units, is yours a 2 or 3 bedroom?

Hi Margaret,
I had the same as AJW (I believe). These were Daitsu "A" rated. We got 3 seperate units for a 2 bed apt. Gary did quote for panasonic "A" rated, slightly more, but still below €2,000. I assume it will be a little more for the 3 bed, but still a lot less than Polaris. The units are easily enough for the apartment, certainly worth a quote from Gary, I am sure he would be happy to advise. email: info@polaraircostablanca.com (tel: 0034966770749)

Hi All,
has anyone used Chillout for air con www.chilloutcostablanca.com
Condado de Alhama.
Hola,
It has come to our attention from prospective clients that have shopped around for different quotes for Air conditioning, that some other well known AC companies when sending information have copied and pasted this page and other information from our website. We can assure you that we have taken alot of time and effort to keep our website, fresh, informative, understandable and a little different from other companies. If you receive any word for word information or price lists seen on our website, from any other company then please be wary of lazy and unprofessional companies....they do not deserve your business. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Below is a list of house packages of different makes and models of Air conditioning for properties in production on the Condado De Alhama site. We have been recommended by numerous reputable companies working with the buyers and maintenance staff on this particular site.
All house packages include a free Reverse Osmosis Water purfication system worth 250.00 euros fully installed. For an explanation of the Reverse Osmosis system please see our frequently asked questions page.

Hi Margaret,
Hadn't even thought about an extractor!!! - would be interested in other peoples experiences and what has been fitted.
I think I saw a "Chillout" van on site whilst I was over, but haven't had any dealings with them - don't know what a "reverse osmosis water system" is!!

Hi Ted,
something for you to read lol!
What is Reverse Osmosis?
The Reverse Osmosis Process uses a semi-permeable membrane to seperate and remove dissolved solids, organics, pyrogens, submicron colloidal matter, viruses and bacteria from water.
The Process is called "reverse" Osmosis since it requires pressure to force pure water across a membrane, leaving the impurities behind. Reverse Osmosis is capable of removing 95-99% of the total dissolved solids (TDS) and 99% of all bacteria, thus providing safe, pure, drinkable water.
To state that the water makes the water too pure to drink and is equal to distilled water is absolutely absurd. The water provided by the RO system is usually prescribed to patients with heart, kidney and liver problems as it is the best water you can possibly drink for your body.
Obvioulsy there is a wastage ratio as it is impossible to completely change every drop of your tap water in to pure drinking water. However the ratio is not as high as a Reverse Osmosis machine which you would find on an aquarium, which I am guessing most people are relating this process to.
The higher your water pressure the lower the ratio of wastage, If your water pressure is not quite up to the job, we can offer the option of a small, silent pump which can be attached to the RO system absolutely free.
The system can be turned off while your away to preserve your filters and stop all concerns of any leaks while your not there, However providing the system is installed by qualified people there will be no chance of any leaks.
The RO system we offer is made in the USA and is certified by ISO.

WOW thanks Margaret - now I know!! (LOL) - think I will stick to keeping bottled water in the fridge, at about €1 for an 8ltr bottle it avoids all the headaches of reading about Reverse Osmosis!!! - or maybe just stick to drinking safe products like Beer and Wine!!

I got 3 and 3, and they are fitted neatly on the roof terrace with 1 on top of the other 2. I am not sure on the downstairs configuration, I think you are best having a chat with Gary at Polarair (I gave the details further down this thread), or one of the other providers. Gary was very good when I was considering the configuration and I am sure he will be happy to advise on yours - he has probably already done some 3 beds by now - I know one of the people I met from Jardin 11 had got a quote from him.
